However, Kagaya refused to marry her unless she did so of her free will. Following their marriage, they gave birth to five children.
He first encountered Gyomei Himejima when he was just 14 years old. He realized that there was a misunderstanding, and he intervened immediately. Therefore, he freed the blind monk who was accused of killing children. He went on to become the Stone Hashira, the most powerful demon hunter of his generation.

He doesn’t show any spike in emotions and always keeps a level head. This can be seen when Muzan visits Ubuyashiki in his own mansion. The latter is on his deathbed, and despite meeting the one person he detests, Ubuyashiki maintains a calm demeanor. This shows the level of emotional control he has. Furthermore, he has a very soothing voice that puts people at ease.
Tanjiro noticed this when he first encountered the leader. However, Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s most impressive ability is his foresight. This ability has quite literally saved thousands of lives because he assigned the right amount of demon hunters to areas where powerful demons would eventually appear.

He laid the foundations for the demon hunters to progress and eventually kill Muzan in the manga series.

He took on the role of a side character who was monumental in the progression of the plot. Kagaya Ubuyashiki worked in the background and ensured that the demon hunters always had the best chance when they were up against demons. He didn’t receive much screen time, and he died quite young. However, he showed just how tough he was in this short time frame.
As a leader of the Corps, he didn’t even know how to swing a sword. However, he is one of the most important characters who had a profound impact on everyone he worked with, and it ultimately led to Muzan’s death. His children showed incredible amounts of resilience as well. Fans were happy to see that Ubuyashiki spent a short yet fulfilling life and that his wishes came true.
Who Took Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s Place in Demon Slayer?
Kagaya Ubuyashiki only had one male child, and he was Kiriya. Since the eldest male members are the successors, Kiriya was forced to take this position after his father’s death. Kiriya had to guide the demon hunters who were scattered in the Infinity Castle. He saw demon hunters die and felt the immense pressure. He realized just how effortless his father made it look. Kiriya was young, and despite the unending pressure, he valiantly carried on. He displayed incredible character and continued despite facing a myriad of setbacks.
When Muzan finally died, he was filled with joy. It is interesting to note that Kiriya Ubuyashiki went on to become the oldest living human in Japan. In fact, a reporter attempted to interview him. The curse that the Ubuyashiki Clan was afflicted with ceased to exist.
