Find out the best DPS/Duelist heroes for your next match in Marvel Rivals based on your playstyle and requirements.
Most of the characters on the roster are in the DPS or Duelist category. These are also many of the ‘fun’ heroes to play. This is the reason why when you enter a random lobby, people instantly lock on to a DPS character.
As of Season 0, Marvel Rivals has 8 Vanguards, 7 Strategists, and 18 Duelists to choose from. Out of these 18, it’s pretty difficult to pick 7 ‘best’ ones. Based on how well you can play each character and what your playstyle is, there are certain heroes that you might like more.
Note that the list present here is subject to the writer’s opinion and is not ranked. With that out of the way, here is our short list:
- Hawkeye (Long-range DPS)
- Black Widow (Long-range DPS)
- Iron Man (Flying DPS)
- The Punisher (Mid-range DPS)
- Scarlet Witch (Mid-range DPS)
- Iron Fist (Close-quarter DPS)
- Spider-Man (Close-quarter DPS)

The Best DPS Duelists in Marvel Rivals S0
1. Hawkeye (Long-range DPS)
Although he doesn’t have a zoomed aim, Hawkeye can deal devastating damage when playing long-range, thanks to his overdrawn arrows. Unfortunately, the bow and arrow can be an outdated weapon in a gunfight because of the lack of fire rate. But if you know how to tackle certain situations like being jumped by a Vanguard, you will be pretty much unstoppable.
Hawkeye is not an easy Duelist to master in Marvel Rivals because of certain restrictions and the fact that you need to have a good aim. But once you figure out how to play him, he can be your number-one pick for all the matches.
2. Black Widow (Long-range DPS)
Natasha Romanova is the sniper in the game. As a result, she deals the most one-hit damage. She is a hitscan player with no additional ADS (aim-down-sight) time. This makes her the perfect player to finish off low-health enemies or collect headshots off of Strategists.
She also has Sprint and Power Jump Ability to retreat or get to a good vantage point. If somebody happens to get too close to her, she can also land a roundhouse kick which can be converted into a grapple kick if the first one lands a hit.
3. Iron Man (Flying DPS)
There are not many flying characters on the roster yet. Besides Iron Man, there is only Storm and some other characters who can levitate occasionally when using certain abilities. This makes our favorite tin-man one of the best DPS picks. He is also difficult to take down from the sky unless a ranged character locks in on him. Even then he can relocate easily.
Tony Stark’s Ultimate ability is also pretty devastating. I won’t go as far as to call it a one-hit attack because Monster Hulk in full health can easily survive it. And Luna Snow’s dancing Ultiimate can allow some characters to survive it. This is why we also think that he needs a buff in the coming season.
4. The Punisher (Mid-range DPS)
You can technically use Frank Castle to deal long-range damage as well. However, he is an effective DPS hero in Marvel Rivals if you use him in mid-range combat situations. Not to forget that his Ultimate can easily wipe out at least half of the team when done right.
The Punisher can equip his shotgun to deal devastating close-range damage as well. And if you happen to hear that infamous “nom nom nom” from Jeff the Land Shark, simply use Punisher’s turret ability and you shall remain unfazed.
5. Scarlet Witch (Mid-range Combat)
Scarlet Witch is a good attack in various combat ranges, especially at Mid-range. This is because she may be too vulnerable in close quarters. Staying at a safe distance allows her to obliterate her enemies using her primary attack alone. It doesn’t require reloading or precise aiming.
Her Ultimate ability is pretty impressive and can wipe out entire teams. However, “pure chaos” can be interrupted pretty easily if not handled properly. Anyway, she can be a menace to deal with on the battlefield.
6. Iron Fist (Close-quarter DPS)
Do we need to give you a reason for putting him on this list? Iron Fist may require some skill to play because he can be overpowered by a good Vanguard pretty easily. However, his Abilities put him in a much stronger position than many other Duelists in Marvel Rivals.
There are tips to counter Iron Fist, much like any other hero on the roster. The best part about him is his Abilities which can immediately make him an intimidating foe to face off against.
7. Spider-Man (Close-quarter DPS)
While he has some ranged attacks, Spider-Man really shines through in close ranged combat situations. One of the things that make him worthy of being on this list is his traversal. He can swing around the map quickly and has three charges before the swing requires a cooldown.
A good Spider-Man can be a great addition to a team. So, if you are looking to train hard using a character, let it be him and you won’t be disappointed. After dealing damage, he can quickly retreat using his web-swing ability. So you can have plenty of time to refocus on battle after healing.
