5 Best Heroes To Solo-Queue in Marvel Rivals Competitive

Competitive Mode in Marvel Rivals is difficult to play without a proper team. But these heroes can make smoothen your solo experience.

Marvel Rivals is already a pretty competitive game. Adding a separate Competitive Mode to the mix just amped things up for lovers of this genre. Trust me when I say this—ranking up in Marvel Rivals is a struggle if you don’t have an entire team to play with.

However, it is not an impossible task. If you know what characters to pick when solo-queuing in competitive mode, you will have a better time sustaining yourself in the game, and potentially pulling your rank up.

The main criterion for qualifying for this list is if a character can do good on its own without the need to communicate with other players. Keep in mind that pinging and asking for heals is not counted.

It is important to note that this article contains the writer’s opinions formed through certain experiences. The list may not work just as well for you. But we have tried to keep things as objective as possible. Moreover, the list is not ranked in any manner.

1. Peni Parker (Vanguard)

The only Spider-Man variant in Marvel Rivals (Source: NetEase)

Peni Parker is one of the Vanguards who is not primarily a “dive character”. She does not take a lot of charge during matches if there are no good Strategists to heal her. However, the best play with this character is to hold point because once her Bionic Spider Nest is on the ground, she can heal herself indefinitely until it is broken!

It also grants her bonus health (the blue extension in the HP bar). Not to forget that she deals a good amount of damage with her arsenal of weapons, can immobilize aggro enemies for a moment, and doesn’t need to reload her ranged gun.

2. Black Widow (Duelist)

Natasha Romanova can prove useful when queuing up for competitive Marvel Rivals matches solo. This is because she is the only ‘sniper’ in the game and can work by sitting at the back of her own team line. I wouldn’t recommend keeping her behind her own Strategists if they are in a line-formation. By staying so far back and still dealing major damage with her sniper, she can save you from the annoyance of unreliable random teammates because you wouldn’t need much support.

3. Iron Fist (Duelist)

Lin Lie’s Iron Fist may not look as powerful as Danny Rand’s but he is a force to be reckoned with in Marvel Rivals. The Chi is strong with him and he knows how to use it properly! No matter what ability of his we are talking about, Iron Fist is difficult to take down alone if you are not a Vanguard at full health. He can regenerate HP on his own and is a diving hero who doesn’t necessarily need to coordinate with other teammates. If you are an opportunistic gamer, you will benefit by having him on your team.

4. Jeff the Land Shark (Strategist)

If you are an angel and voluntarily enjoy playing as a Strategist, then Jeff the Land Shark can be your go-to hero for solo-queuing in competitive Marvel Rivals matches. This baby shark has a huge fan base and an even bigger hater base. Both have valid reasons. He excels at healing his allies, and himself. And if things go sideways, his basic attack also deals plenty of damage. Don’t even get me started on his Ultimate Ability. The bottom line is—you can be a menace on your own, and support your random teammates when playing as Jeff the Land Shark in competitive mode.

5. Cloak and Dagger (Strategist)

This is the only hero (or heroes) who can switch between two completely different characters without any cooldown time in between. Dagger is the healing specialist out of the two. Dagger, on the other hand, can hide himself and his allies while draining enemies rapidly. If you play as these two, you don’t need much communication. One of the reasons is that you are a Strategist yourself. Secondly, if an Iron Fist, Wolverine, or Spider-Man is coming at you, just turn into Cloak, disappear, and relocate conveniently. This will save you from your unreliable random teammates.

If you “main” a character, that may be the best choice in most of the scenarios. However, if your main character requires teamplay, you might want to consider this list next time! Feel free to let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
