Magneto
Magneto is one of the best Vanguards in the game and is very easy to play. The character can absorb tons of damage due to his massive health pool, diverting enemies away from his teammates in the process. He lacks traditional tank skills such as walls, which allows a beginner to be more flexible in their approach. He does have a shield, but it only lasts 3 seconds, making it more of a solo tool to protect yourself.
For beginners, this shield is useful in defending against Ultimates. What makes him even more beginner-friendly is his respectably high damage, with his Iron Volley (used by pressing LMB) dealing around 100 HP damage to enemies in short to mid-range.
Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange may repel beginners with his seemingly complex magic, but he is fairly easy to play. The character deals moderately high damage for a Vanguard, and his Dagger of Denak (LMB) can carry you far. The attack also has a wider spread, so you can use it comfortably to land body shots, giving you a larger target to work with. He can also use his Shield of the Seraphim to spawn a massive shield in front of him to ward off enemy attacks.
More so than these, his real hook is his ability to maneuver. He can fly around while using his shield. This will allow you to get comfortable with the flying mechanics without being punished too hard for it.

The Punisher
The Punisher is one of the simplest characters in the game, reflected by his use of a standard military arsenal. The character relies on shotguns, rifles, and grenades to deal the bulk of his damage. The shotgun is the perfect equalizer at close range, while the rifle lets you chip away at enemy HP from a distance. The smoke grenades are ideal for getting out of a pinch while also allowing you to create a smoke screen and close in with the shotgun. He can also call in a massive 600 HP turret to hold an area and shred enemies.
When it comes to movement, the Punisher is only human, after all, and relies on simple ziplines to traverse the map. Everything about the character screams simple, making him perfect for beginners.
Scarlet Witch
Scarlet Witch is arguably the easiest character in the game, let alone the easiest Duelist to pick up. Wanda is a high DPS mage that can shred through enemies with ease. Playing Wanda can be as simple as holding LMB and using her Chaos Control. This is an attack with infinite ammo and no cooldown, allowing you to jump into battle with no worry. The attack is also just as good at long-range, making Wanda perfect for any map. Use the LMB attack long enough, and it will restore your RMB projectiles.
These projectiles are like little grenades that deal AOE damage. Her Dark Seal makes her perfect for area denial and control. Wanda does it all, and she makes it as simple as a press of a button.

Jeff the Land Shark
Jeff the Land Shark is one of the easiest (and cutest) characters to hop onto when starting the game. Jeff is the ideal support player and healer, largely in part due to his Joyful Splash (LMB) ability. This ability fires a stream of water that heals teammates. The best part of this, however, is its infinite range. This allows you to heal from a safe distance and still contribute to team efforts.
Jeff can also pick fights from a distance using his Aqua Burst, which deals moderately high damage. If things spiral out of hand and you find yourself backed into a corner, you can make your escape by swimming underground. This makes you a smaller target and allows you to live to fight another day.
Rocket Raccoon
Rocket Raccoon is one of the best Strategists in the game, largely in part due to his ability to hold his own in battle. Rocket comes equipped with a machine gun that can melt enemies like butter. He can also heal his teammates by launching healing balls from a distance. The gameplay loop is simple: left-click to kill, right-click to heal.
To make matters better, he can revive teammates through B.R.B. ability, allowing you to shift the tide in battle. He can also maneuver freely and be a total menace. He can climb on walls using his claws, or hover around with his jetpack, making him a hard target to hit.
