Electronic Arts’s The Sims 4 is the fourth installment of the popular life simulation game franchise “The Sims”. Unlike most games, the developers allow the use of cheat codes in The Sims 4. As a result, you can achieve almost everything in the game with the help of cheat codes such as getting unlimited money. With cheat codes, you can also modify your Sim’s pregnancy i.e. the duration of the pregnancy or forcing twins or triplets. You can get your Sims pregnant by using the option of “Trying for a Baby” with their partner.
There are no cheat codes to decide the gender of the baby in The Sims 4. However, it can be influenced by performing several actions during the pregnancy period. Make the pregnant sim eat Strawberries and listen to Pop music to increase the probability of a baby girl, whereas eating carrots and listening to Alternative music increases the chances of a baby boy.
How to Enable Cheat Codes in The Sims 4?
We have to enable the cheat code option first, which is turned off by default. Press “Ctrl + Shift + C” to open the cheat console on your PC. It can be done on consoles by pressing all four shoulder buttons simultaneously.
Once the dialogue box opens, enter either “testingcheats true” or “testingcheats on” to turn on the cheat codes. Once the cheat codes are turned on, you can open the cheat console anytime and type the cheat codes. Similar to enabling cheat codes, you can disable them by entering “testingcheats off” or “testingcheats false” on the cheat console.
Also, note that the Pregnancy cheats are disabled in the game. Since you need to install a mod to activate the Pregnancy cheats, you can’t use them on other Consoles such as PlayStation or Xbox. Installing the All Cheats Fix mod by TwistedMexi allows PC users to access the Pregnancy cheat codes.
Cheat Codes for Pregnancy Duration in The Sims 4
In The Sims 4, the Pregnancy period lasts for three in-game days. It can be modified by several cheat codes, through which you can even send your pregnant Sim to the labor ward instantly. The following are the cheat codes that affect the duration of the Pregnancy period of the Sims
- sims.add_buff buff_Pregnancy_Trimester1 : The Pregnant Sim enters the first trimester of pregnancy
- sims.add_buff buff_Pregnancy_Trimester2 : The Pregnant Sim enters the second trimester of pregnancy
- sims.add_buff buff_Pregnancy_Trimester3 : The Pregnant Sim enters the third trimester of pregnancy
- sims.add_buff buff_Pregnancy_InLabor : The Pregnant Sim instantly goes into labor
Cheat Codes for Multiple Babies in The Sims 4
Usually, the pregnant sim gives birth to one baby in the game. Cheat codes enable your Sim to have multiple offspring.
To make that happen, first you need to get the ID of the pregnant sim. It can be obtained by entering the cheat code “sims.get_sim_id_by_name”, followed by the actual name of the pregnant Sim.
Once you get the ID, proceed with the next cheat code by entering “pregnancy.force_offspring_count”, followed by the Sim ID and the number of babies you want.
You can also influence the number of offspring for a Pregnant Sim without using cheat codes. Locations with the lot traits “On Ley Line” (City Living) and “On A Dark Ley Line” (Vampires) influence the birth of twins and triplets. The in-game features like Fertile Trait, Elixir of Fertility, and Fertility Massage also have a probability of having twins or triplets.
