Discover the best projectile type heroes in Marvel Rivals, based on their damage, mobility and flexibility.
Marvel Rivals has already become a sensation in the gaming world. It currently consists of 33 characters from Marvel Comics, all possessing different abilities. On the basis of their shooting mechanics, the characters can be categorized into hitscan and projectile.
In essence, hitscan means that there is no delay between the shooting of the bullet and impact. On the other hand, projectile attacks are delayed, meaning you have to time your shots according to the movement of enemies.
The following list is based on Season 0 of the game, and the ranking might change with future updates. So with no further ado, here’s the list of all Marvel Rivals projectile heroes, ranked on the basis of speed, damage, and adaptivity.
Note: The ranking is subjective.
10. Namor
The unrivaled King of the Seas, Namor, is a duelist who uses the “Trident of Neptune” as his primary attack, which is a projectile type. Namor’s primary attack does 70 damage per hit with infinite ammo but has a slow fire rate. His lack of mobility and underwhelming kit make him an easy target. So, he is ranked last on our list.
9. Squirrel Girl
Squirrel Girl is a duelist who eats nuts and kicks butts. With a projectile-type primary that ricochets, she does a good amount of damage. The “Squirrel Blockade” ability is the most useful one in her kit, as it imprisons the enemy when hit. With not much in the kit, Squirrel Girl is an easy-to-learn character. Her low damage output works against her.
8. Magneto
Master of Magnetism Magneto, classified as a vanguard, covers the battlefield in Marvel Rivals. He uses projectile type as his primary and secondary attacks. Magneto’s “Metallic Curtain” is a deflective shield that only lasts for 3 seconds with a cooldown of 15 seconds. Other than that, he can conjure metal shields around himself or allies, which only last for 2 seconds with a given cooldown of 8 seconds. This makes Magneto a mediocre tank among the vanguards.
Magneto’s ultimate ability, “Meteor M,” throws a massive iron meteor on the ground, dealing significant damage, but it does not have the impact you would expect from an ultimate.
7. Iron Man
Iron Man, a duelist in Marvel Rivals, flies into the battlefield in his state-of-the-art armor. However, being able to fly is a blessing only until the enemy team notices you. Iron Man has a primary attack of 55 damage and an unibeam assigned as a secondary attack. His skill “Armor Overdrive” enhances his normal attacks. His ultimate ability, “Invincible Pulse Cannon,” can be used as a crowd-clearing card.
The low HP and slow flight movements make Iron Man relatively weak in comparison to other projectile-type heroes.
6. Peni Parker
Coming from the Spider-verse, Peni Parker is a vanguard in Marvel Rivals, battling on the front lines. Peni uses Cyber-Web Cluster, a projectile-type attack, as her primary weapon. Peni builds a web in a highlighted area with her Bionic Spider-Nest, which gives her a movement boost and bonus health. Her kit makes her a very versatile vanguard, dealing damage and capturing the area. Additionally, she can use the Arachno-Mine for additional damage.
Overall, Peni can be a very good damage-dealing vanguard depending on how you use her kit.
5. Loki
Loki, the God of Mischief, comes in at number 5 because of his weak primary attack and a technical ultimate, which require a lot of game knowledge. He can turn into any hero from the match and turn the tides. However, to ace this skill, players need to master almost half of the roster. The healing he provides with his “Regeneration Domain” almost makes him and his allies invincible for some time. The illusions also confuse enemies, as players can shift from one clone to another.
As his title goes, Loki can create chaos on the battlefield, given you can master his kit.
4. Doctor Strange
Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, defends his allies and objective as a vanguard. His “Shield of the Seraphim” is the only 1-second cooldown ability in the game that can tank almost every ultimate attack. Being able to open portals during a match adds almost infinite possibilities to the game.
Strange’s primary attack, “Daggers of Denak,” breaks into 5 pieces of 18 damage each, causing the opponents a significant amount of pain. Him being able to switch between attacks and shields makes him a very good vanguard, causing trouble for the enemies on the battlefield. The ultimate ability of Doctor Strange has the potential for team wipes when paired with team abilities.
The damage falloff of his primary weapon makes him a low damage dealer character, but his overall kit works perfectly as a vanguard.
3. Hawkeye
Duelist and strategist one-shotter Hawkeye deserves the third spot on the list. Hawkeye can double jump, which makes him mobile enough to get into good positions. His primary attack shoots a normal arrow, while the secondary is an explosive arrow, both being projectiles.
Hawkeye’s passive “Archer’s Focus” increases the damage of his primary attacks; you just have to hold the arrow and aim at an enemy. The melee can be used to deflect incoming projectiles. His ultimate ability, “Hunter’s Sight,” captures afterimages of enemies; the damage dealt to an afterimage is transferred to the corresponding enemy.
Every skill in his kit deals damage, making him the ultimate marksman.
2. Moon Knight
An avatar of Egyptian God Khonshu, Moon Knight glides onto the battlefield as a duelist in Marvel Rivals. With the potential of KOing multiple enemies at once, Moon Knight has earned second place on the list. His primary attack, “Crescent Dart,” bounces between enemies, causing 25 dmg per dart. When paired with his skill “Ancient Ankh,” his primary gets an extra anchor to bounce, causing additional damage to the enemies. Moon Knight’s ultimate, “Hand of Khonshu,” opens a portal that allows Khonshu to bombard enemies with his talons, clearing the area.
With his prowess in mobility and damage dealing, Moon Knight soars the list while talking to the moon.
1. Winter Soldier
If you hear “Again!” from afar, be careful; there is a brainwashed assassin named Winter Soldier on the battlefield. With his blaster, “Rosterstern,” equipped as a primary projectile weapon, the Winter Soldier fires explosive rounds at 70 damage each. His “Bionic Hook” grabs enemies at close to medium range, sometimes interrupting ultimate attacks of enemies. He dashes and uppercuts foes with his “Trooper’s Fist.”
Combine his primary with “Bionic Hook” and finish with “Trooper’s Fist,” and Winter Soldier can get a guaranteed kill from almost every character on the roster. But the ability that makes him superior to the above-mentioned characters is his ultimate ability, “Kraken Impact.” He leaps high, then dashes forward and slams down the bionic arm, dealing damage to enemies in range. Enemies get marked, and if they perish, he gets his ultimate back, thus repeating the process while screaming, “Again.”
Some other heroes possess some abilities that are projectile in nature. Here’s the list of the mentioned heroes and their abilities:
- Mantis (Life Energy Blast)
- Spider-Man (Web Cluster)
- Captain America (Vibranium Energy Saw)
- Rocket Raccoon (Bombard Mode)
- Scarlet Witch (Chthonian Burst)
- Jeff the Land Shark (Aqua Burst)
- Thor (Hammer Throw)
- Black Panther (Spear Toss)
