Best BSL Minecraft Shader Settings to dial in on your RTX 4070 Super at 1440p desktop resolution, explored.

BSL shaders in Minecraft are loved for their perfect blend of beauty, performance, and cinematic experience. Unbound shaders have an alternative, Reimagined, that relies on raster performance. BSL also does the same and is even lighter than the Reimagine shaders. From our observations, the BSL shaders rarely cross the 7GB VRAM usage mark. Regarding the 4070 Super, the settings below recommend 1440p native high-fps gameplay, but you can dial in 4K and expect similar results.
Note—Gamers particularly like the soft yet realistic lighting effect, which is not too overwhelming, referring to unbound or pale like Vanilla Minecraft. The combination used here is the Neoforge beta branch, along with Sodium and Iris, over Minecraft 1.21.5.
BSL Minecraft Shader Settings for RTX 4070 Super (1440p)

You should start with the Ultra profile, as shown in the above image; it’s a compelling starting point, as you can dial in the preset and forget other options. The customizations offered with BSL are huge; you can tweak everything over here. If you want the lighting to fit your mood, then do the following:
- Go to Options > Video Settings > Shaders, select BSL, and click Shader Options.
- Navigate to the “Color Grading & Tonemap” section. You can adjust brightness, exposure, saturation, and vibrance to set the mood here.
- Reduce the “Minimum Light Intensity” under Lighting for darker, more atmospheric caves and nights.
There is a lot more you can explore and tune to your heart’s content.
