This guide will share the best builds for Sunday in Honkai Star Rail including the recommended relics, Planar Ornaments, and light cones.
Knowing the best Sunday build in Honkai Star Rail is crucial if you want to maximize the potential of this new Harmony support character. The former head of the Oak Family of Penacony has a lot to offer but will require the right build to make him effective.
As a support character, he is actually quite flexible on his Light Cone preferences. If you can’t get his signature cone, you can always resort to using general-use 4-star Light Cones. This is what makes supports good in the game, as they don’t necessarily need their signature cones in order to work. However, getting Sunday’s 5-star Light Cone is still recommended if you have enough Stellar Jades.
This guide will share the best Sunday builds in Honkai Star Rail. We’ll also be explaining why these builds are recommended.
Best Sunday Relic Sets in Honkai Star Rail
Here are the best relic sets for Sunday in Honkai Star Rail:
- Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal 4pc
- Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal 2pc + Messenger Traversing Hackerspace 2x
As for the main stats of the relic sets, try to get CRIT DMG on a Body piece and SPD for the Feet. However, keep in mind that it is advisable that Sunday is one SPD slower than your main DPS. This way, you can cast your skill after your main damage dealer’s attack and give them a second turn before the round ends.
As for the sub-stats, aim for even more CRIT DMG, and SPD. It’s also good to have a bit of Effect RES and HP% so Sunday doesn’t get knocked down easily.
Further explanation for each relic set option can be found below.
Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal 4pc
This is a new relic set added to the game in the Honkai Star Rail 2.7 update. Its 2pc effect grants an additional 6% SPD for the wearer. Equipping the full set, however, adds another passive effect that increases the CRIT DMG of one ally when the wearer casts a Skill or Ultimate on them. The 4pc effect can stack twice.
Sunday’s kit revolves around boosting one ally’s CRIT DMG on top of giving them an Advance Forward effect. Equipping the 4pc set of Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal will further amplify the buff he gives to the target ally.
Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal 2pc + Messenger Traversing Hackerspace 2x
If you are still farming for the right stats, you can use a combination of Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal and Messenger Traversing Hackerspace. However, you can only get the 2pc effects of both relics.
The Messenger Traversing Hackerspace grants 6% SPD to the wearer. This makes Sunday a bit faster, allowing him to take most turns before the enemy does. But overall, it’s not that great. It’s better to get as much CRIT DMG as possible.
You would also want Sunday to take his turn before the team’s main DPS does. So having too many SPD stats can reduce his effectiveness. Still, it’s the best option you have if you are still farming for a 4pc Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal.
Best Sunday Planar Ornaments in Honkai Star Rail
Here are the best Planar Ornament sets for Sunday in Honkai Star Rail:
- Broken Keel
- Lushaka, the Sunken Seas
- Sprightly Vonwacq
The main stat you’re looking for in Planar Ornaments is HP% for Sphere. For the Rope, you need to have the Energy Regen stat.
Similar to the relics, aim for CRIT DMG and SPD. However, make sure your main DPS is still the fastest in the lineup. You don’t want to have too much speed on Sunday. If you think you have enough speed, go for defensive stats like Effect RES and HP%.
Further explanation for each Planar Ornament set can be found below.
Broken Keel
The Broken Keel is the best Planar Ornament for Sunday in Honkai Star Rail. The 2pc effect grants 10% Effect RES to the wearer. It grants an additional 10% CRIT DMG if the wearer’s Effect RES is about 30%.
This set is perfect as he needs the CRIT DMG stat to further amplify his Ultimate ability’s effect.
Lushaka, the Sunken Seas
The 2pc effect of Lushaka, the Sunken Seas is that it increases the ATK of the first character placed in the lineup by 12%. It also increases the energy regeneration of the wearer by 5%. It’s a decent set to use. However, this doesn’t benefit Sunday much.
It does help your main DPS with the right team placement. However, boosting Sunday’s CRIT DMG is still much more recommended to increase the effectiveness of his Ultimate ability.
Sprightly Vonwacq
The Sprightly Vonwacq set is good if your strategy is to let Sunday cast his Skill at the start of the battle. You will need to get his SPD to 120 in order for this 2pc effect to work.
Best Light Cones for Sunday in Honkai Star Rail
If you’re building Sunday, here are his recommended light cones:
- A Grounded Ascent (Signature Light Cone)
- But the Battle Isn’t Over
- Past and Future
A detailed explanation of each light cone can be found below.
A Grounded Ascent
This is Sunday’s featured Light Cone. If you can get this, you are already set for this character.
The effect of A Grounded Ascent is that whenever the wearer uses a skill or Ultimate on an ally, the wearer regenerates energy and the target receives a stack of Hymn. The Hymn buff will increase their DMG by 15% each stack. Additionally, after every two casts of skill or Ultimate on an ally, the party gains 1 SP.
That’s a lot of benefits for one single Light Cone. You get extra energy regeneration, Sunday’s ally gets a DMG buff, and the whole party can also gain one extra skill point as he casts abilities.
Do keep in mind that the effects grow stronger as you superimpose it with its duplicates. However, getting it to maximum superimposition is expensive.
But the Battle Isn’t Over
If you don’t have the signature light cone, you can use But the Battle Isn’t Over. This is originally Bronya’s signature cone, but it also fits Sunday’s mechanics.
When equipped, it increases the wearer’s energy by 10% and gives 1 SP for the team when the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally. Additionally, when the wearer uses their Skill, the next ally taking action will receive a 30% DMG increase.
This is a low-investment 5-star light cone, as you can purchase this in the Starlight Exchange shop. It still takes a bit of time to get it to maximum superimposition. If you can spare a few Undying Starlight to buy this light cone, go ahead and grab it. Otherwise, just save your tokens to buy more Star Rail Special Passes.
Past and Future
If you don’t have any of the mentioned 5-star light cones, Past and Future is the best 4-star alternative. It’s also easy to acquire and can easily be superimposed.
Its effect is half of Bronya’s signature light cone. When the wearer uses their Skills, the next ally taking action will receive a 16% DMG buff. The effect increases with each superimposition.
