NOTE: Parts of this article are subjective and reflect the writer’s opinion.
Sleek Saber (Cloud)

This greatsword is available very early in the game at the Abandoned Docks in Grasslands. You can loot this weapon for Cloud from a chest as early as Chapter 2. Although it is an early-game weapon, the sword boasts an ATK value of 145 when fully upgraded, which is the highest of any other sword. For this reason, we strongly recommend using it, especially since Cloud excels as a well-balanced character and greatly benefits from the blade’s high ATK and MATK. Additionally, its offensive ability Firebolt Blade, allows you to shred through enemies with ease.
Barrage Blaster (Barret)

You can find this weapon for Barret in a chest near the cliff’s edge at the Coal Mines during Chapter 7. It features the Lifesaver ability, which perfectly complements Barret’s role as the tank of the party. This ability helps you endure longer battles by distributing HP among party members while also allowing you to heal others using your own HP as a proficiency bonus. Moreover, Barret’s Folio can be customized to align with a tank-oriented playstyle, making it an essential choice for maintaining party durability.
Járngreipr (Tifa)

Járngreipr is a weapon for Tifa that becomes available much later in the game, specifically in Chapter 13. You can find it in the Hall of Life Second Tier, inside a chest near some ruins. Its weapon skill allows you to easily pressure enemies and stagger them, creating opportunities for devastating follow-ups. While the raw damage output might not be the highest, combining it with other skills that boost Crit Rate and Crit Damage enables Tifa to occasionally deliver massive bursts of damage. Additionally, pairing this weapon with as much Luck boost as possible allows Tifa to unleash an unimaginable amount of pain on her enemies.
Plumose Rod (Aerith)

The Plumrose Rod can be obtained by completing the Lament of the Damned sidequest, which is available from the quest board in the Nibel region. To acquire this weapon, you need to progress through the quest and complete all eight Shinra Combat Trials. Once completed, you’ll unlock access to the area containing this staff in a chest. With an impressive MATK stat of 204, it is the highest among all the weapons in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and is best for Aerith. All of its abilities synergize well with her skills, enabling her to deliver incredible amounts of magic damage.
Golden Collar (Red XIII)

This weapon is located on a broken platform in the Gongaga Reactor in Chapter 9. To retrieve it, you have to move some crates and access the chest containing it. With a high ATK of 208, this weapon ranks as one of the best in the game. Its unique ability allows you to deplete the Vengeance Gauge to heal your allies during battles. The healing potency directly scales with the amount of the gauge expended, making it a powerful tool for Rex XIII at both offense and support.
Crescent Sickle (Yuffie)

You obtain this weapon by playing the Glide de Chocobo mini-game in Cosmo Canyon, which becomes available in Chapter 10. To unlock it, you need to score at least 3600 points in Training Course 1. Therefore, this weapon perfectly matches Yuffie, as it synergizes exceptionally well with Yuffie’s Folio. If you excel at blocking, Yuffie can become an ATB point farming machine thanks to its Precision Defense weapon skill.
Golden Megaphone (Cait Sith)

This weapon is acquired in Chapter 11 when you play as Cait Sith. To obtain it, grab a box and throw it at the switch near the door with a purple chest containing the weapon. In fact, with a total of eight weapon skill slots, this becomes one of the best weapons available for Cait Sith. As an all-rounder weapon, it significantly boosts Cait Sith’s magic damage. Additionally, with the highest MATK of any weapon for Cait Sith, this weapon is highly recommended for maximizing his potential in combat.
