Source: Games Science

In Black Myth: Wukong, your character progresses by unlocking new spells and abilities. Moreover, you can then further refine those skills by unlocking Talents. Talents are passive boosts to your active spells that you can unlock with Spark Points.

Furthermore, you will need to defeat enemies to make progress towards Spark Points. First, when you defeat an enemy you will be granted Willpower. Then, after your Willpower bar fills up, you will get a Spark Point.

Finally, you can respec your Spark Points at any time during the game. This freedom will facilitate combat strategy and allow you to modify your build to take advantage of boss weaknesses or combat style.

A Pluck of Many Talent Tree - Black Myth Wukong

There are a total of 8 Strand talents available to unlock in Black Myth: Wukong, and each will grant a different type of passive boost. Moreover, within the Strand skill tree, there is only one spell available: A Pluck of Many. This spell allows you to create Duplications that can fight, flee, or engage with your enemy.

The Duplicates are fragile and not meant to take a strong boss or large group of enemies on by themselves. However, they are a great way for you to create a distraction if you need a moment for recovery.

Below are all the Strand Skills and Talents:

Longstrand

A Pluck of Many Talent Longstrand - Black Myth Wukong
  • Talent Name: Longstrand
  • Spell Specific: A Pluck of Many
  • Description: Each talent level moderately increases the duration of Duplicates.
  • Type: Passive
  • Sparks Cost: 1

When you cast A Pluck of Many, it creates a certain number of Duplicates to help engage the enemy. These duplicates have both a health pool and a limited duration if they can survive. The base duration of the duplicates created by A Pluck of Many is two minutes or 120 seconds.

If you’re summoning your duplicates to take on a powerful single-target boss then it is unlikely that they will last for very long without a lot of help. However, they could be more survivable if you’re taking on groups of enemies. In that case, having a higher duration timer for your duplicates could be very useful.

Tyranny of Numbers

A Pluck of Many Talent Tyranny of Numbers - Black Myth Wukong
  • Talent Name: Tyranny of Numbers
  • Spell Specific: A Pluck of Many
  • Description: Moderately increases the Damage dealt by Duplicates nearby.
  • Type: Passive
  • Sparks Cost: 1

The Tyranny of Numbers talent will increase the amount of damage your duplicates can deal to enemies when they are close to you. However, this tooltip does not include any information about the exact radius within which this bonus will be active. The benefit of the Tyranny of Numbers talent will greatly depend on how close your duplicates have to be to you.

Moreover, this talent will probably be more useful when facing a single-target monster. Then, your duplicates are likely to be close by helping you attack it. However, when fighting multiple enemies they are much more likely to be spread out.

Synergy

A Pluck of Many Talent Synergy - Black Myth Wukong
  • Talent Name: Synergy
  • Spell Specific: A Pluck of Many
  • Description: After using A Pluck of Many, hitting enemies moderately extends the duration of Duplicates. This effect can stack up to 10 times.
  • Type: Passive
  • Sparks Cost: 1

The Synergy talent will extend the duration of your duplicates each time you hit an enemy. Furthermore, you can stack this effect up to 10 times. Getting the most out of this talent will likely be more difficult against single-target monsters due to more complex mechanics. Getting a full stack of 10 hits within a reasonable time frame might be difficult depending on the combat strategy you need to use.

However, it would likely work very well against groups of enemies, where you can more quickly get in many hits at once.

Grey Hair

A Pluck of Many Talent Grey Hair - Black Myth Wukong
  • Talent Name: Grey Hair
  • Spell Specific: A Pluck of Many
  • Description: Moderately increases the Maximum Health of Duplicates.
  • Type: Passive
  • Sparks Cost: 1

Next in the Black Myth: Wukong – Complete Guide List Strand Skills and Talents article is Grey Hair, which will increase the Maximum Health of all your Duplicates. This talent is probably one of the best early investments in this talent skill line because adding Health will boost your Duplicate’s survivability. Duration may become important later on, but if your Duplicates are getting killed within a single hit or two, then duration hardly matters.

Harmony

A Pluck of Many Talent Harmony - BMWK
  • Talent Name: Harmony
  • Spell Specific: A Pluck of Many
  • Description: Grants a moderate amount of Focus for each successful Light Attack dealt by Duplicates.
  • Type: Passive
  • Sparks Cost: 2

The Harmony talent is geared towards increased DPS, and unlocking it will grant you Focus for each successful light attack dealt by your duplicates. In Black Myth: Wukong, Focus Points are a resource that you build by landing successful hits on enemies. Additionally, you can also increase Focus by charging and executing Perfect Dodges. You can choose to spend all of your built-up Focus on a single powerful Heavy Attack. Therefore, sacrificing more Focus or greater damage.

Consequently, the Harmony talent has the potential to generate a lot of Focus Points for you passively. You can discharge a Heavy Attack with Focus and then your duplicates can help you quickly rebuild your pool of Focus again for another big hit.

Multitude

A Pluck of Many Talent Multitude - BMWK
  • Talent Name: Multitude
  • Spell Specific: A Pluck of Many
  • Description: Each talent level grants an additional Duplicate at the cost of a considerable amount of Mana.
  • Type: Passive
  • Sparks Cost: 2

The Multitude talent in the Strand skill tree will grant you an additional duplicate for each level you unlock. However, these extra duplicates will charge a greater cost to your Mana, meaning you won’t be able to cast other spells as often.

Therefore, unlocking and upgrading this talent will be a trade-off. You’ll likely want to invest in strengthening your original duplicates health and duration first before investing in Multitude.

Insult to Injury

A Pluck of Many Talent Insult to Injury - BMWK
  • Talent Name: Insult to Injury
  • Spell Specific: A Pluck of Many
  • Description: Slightly increases the Damage dealt by Duplicates when using another spell after A Pluck of Many.
  • Type: Passive
  • Sparks Cost: 1

Next in the Black Myth: Wukong – Complete Guide List Strand Skills and Talents article is Insult to Injury, which will increase the damage dealt by your Duplicates. However, this won’t just happen automatically. You will have to trigger the effect by casting another spell after summoning your duplicates by casting A Pluck of Many.

Therefore, you’ll have to make sure that you have enough Mana on hand to cast two spells in fairly short succession. Additionally, this may be more difficult if you’ve leveled the Multitude talent and are spending more Mana to summon additional duplicates.

Volition

A Pluck of Many Talent Volition - BMWK
  • Talent Name: Volition
  • Spell Specific: A Pluck of Many
  • Description: At appropriate times, Duplicates can use Immobilize, Ring of Fire, and Rock Solid.
  • Type: Passive
  • Sparks Cost: 2

The Volition talent is an excellent way to really boost the power and effectiveness of your Duplicates. After you unlock Volition your duplicates will gain the ability to use the Immobilize, Ring of Fire, and Rock Solid spells. However, your duplicates will still be reliant on their basic, regular attacks. These spells will only be cast ‘at appropriate times’. Therefore, likely whenever the AI decides it is optimal.

Additionally, the tooltip does not specify if the duplicates will be casting these spells for ‘free’, or if the cost of the spells will be taken from your Mana pool. If it’s the latter, then the timing of when your duplicates use these spells may make it difficult for you to execute your own spell strategy.
