Can Yasuke Be Stealthy in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Yasuke has been introduced as the ‘muscle’ in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but can you play stealthily as him?

Ubisoft released the first few footage clips of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and we knew right away that Yasuke was going to be the ‘brawn’ in the game’s plot. Even in terms of gameplay, he appeared to be more of a brute than somebody who would sneak about the place.

This system is pretty similar to the Frye Twins in AC Syndicate, except that Jacob Frye could adapt to stealth when needed. However, that didn’t seem to be the case with Yasuke in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed installment.

That was the case until the recent official interview with Simon, Associate Game Director for Shadows. Ubisoft officially posted the blog on their website for fans to read through. This is where Simon revealed that you can be stealthy while playing as Yasuke in AC Shadows.

Since not every mission will require a particular character, this may be a big relief for fans who were planning to play as the Samurai. However, it comes with its own setbacks.

The bow and arrow are back in the franchise once more. We doubt Naoe will get to use it because of the arsenal of stealthy weapons she already has. So, the developers decided to do Yasuke a favor.

The bow and arrow will be your go-to buddy when you are trying to sneak around a place as Yasuke in the game. Little needs to be said about this outdated but useful weapon. With the help of good aim, you can quickly achieve your goal with minimal chaos.

If you are careful enough, you can let Yasuke slip behind an enemy, unnoticed, and deliver a devastating assassination. As far as we know, he won’t use a hidden blade for this. Instead, the blow to knock the life out of the enemy will be delivered using Yasuke’s melee weapon.

This will certainly bust your cover. So, we would recommend you use this only when you are completely sure that you have turned the odds in your favor by first stealthily taking out enemies using that bow and arrow.

This stealth mechanic is much shallower compared to what the developers have planned for Naoe. Stay tuned for more news on that!
