Werewolves have been a significant part of the fantasy genre and popular culture. Because of that, Bethesda allowed players to transform their characters into these fantastical creatures of the dark in their fantasy RPGs, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. So, it is no surprise that some fans are asking if it is possible to turn into a Werewolf in the new Oblivion Remastered. Unfortunately, the answer is no. There was no option for players to transform into a Werewolf in the original 2006 release, and the 2025 enhanced version follows the same path.

However, it is not all bad news. The developers might not have allowed players to become half man, half wolf, but that does not mean we won’t see this particular feature added to Oblivion Remastered in the future, either through DLC or mods.

Players Might Be Able To Become a Werewolf in Oblivion Remastered With Mods in the Future

Yes, it is not possible to become a Werewolf in the base game or the deluxe edition of Oblivion Remastered. One can turn into a vampire in the game, but not its long-nosed counterpart. However, as we discussed, if you have your heart set on howling at the full moon at night, then you must wait. The original Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion saw mods that enabled players to transform themselves into a Werewolf in the game, such as Werewolf: The Awakening. So, it is quite possible that Oblivion Remastered will receive the same treatment.

A little over a week has passed since the game’s release, and modders have already uploaded many Oblivion Remastered mods to sites like Nexus Mods. So, it is only a matter of time before someone creates a mod that will allow you to turn your character into a Werewolf. However, if you are interested, then for now, you can download some mods that will let you adjust your attributes, which might make you feel similar to a Werewolf.

Players Will Have To Wait For More Oblivion Remastered Mods

A Werewolf mod for Oblivion Remastered might take a while to come out. It could potentially take months before you see such a mod for the title. And since the game is not designed to have such a mechanic, you will most inevitably witness some bugs and performance issues in said mod in the hypothetical future. Overall, even without the ability to turn into a Werewolf, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is a great game that lets players become other things, such as Vampires and Dark Elves.
