Ultimates are essentially the most powerful skills in Marvel Rivals. But can you cancel it when somebody is in the middle of the animation?
Canceling an Ultimate Ability while playing Marvel Rivals can turn the tide around for your team. Learning this skill is essential, especially if you play ranked or just wish to increase that W/L ratio on your stats page.
At times, your enemies may enable their ultimates together. So, it would help for you, or someone on your team, to know how to put an end to this intimidating move.
If you want to know whether it’s possible, yes, it is. However, it’s not always as simple as you may think. Not all ultimates can be canceled right away because all 33 characters on the roster have different animations and uses for their ultimates.
The most convenient way to cancel an Ultimate Ability in Marvel Rivals is by killing the hero in question. This can be relatively easier to execute with Scarlet Witch in the opponent team, but extremely difficult when the Ultimate is almost instantaneous, like Jeff the Land Shark‘s.

Ultimates That Peni Parker Can Cancel in Marvel Rivals
One of Peni Parker’s cooldown abilities includes the Cyber Web Snare. This is an extremely useful Ability to use in the heat of battle. Players can use it to escape the scene or immobilize a rival.
Another major use for this ability is canceling Ultimates. Just use the snare on an enemy who is using their Ultimate Ability. It doesn’t work on every character, unfortunately. Following is a list of characters that you can use this neat trick on:
- Doctor Strange
- Thor
- Black Panther
- Scarlet Witch
- Psylocke (only works if you snare her as soon as the animation kicks off)
- Groot (does not completely cancel but halts movement)
- Iron Man
- Spider-Man
- Star Lord (only works if you snare him as the animation kicks off)
- Magik (only works if you snare her as the animation kicks off)
It might also work on another Peni Parker but the window for canceling that Ultimate is pretty small. As for Jeff the Land Shark, he is still unaffected by this!
