Will the players be able to play this unique wizard’s sport in the new upcoming RPG game? Read on to find the answer and learn more about Broomsticks in Hogwarts Legacy.
Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the world introduced in the Harry Potter books. It’s quite easily one of the 2023 most highly-anticipated games. The story takes place at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1800s. Players can create their own Wizard or Witch and explore the magical open world, attend classes, fly on magical creatures, fight casting spells, make potions and much more.
Can you play Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy?
Unfortunately, quidditch is not playable in Hogwarts Legacy. Some fans speculate that playable quidditch matches could perhaps appear in one of the Hogwarts Legacy DLCs. However, we don’t have any official confirmation from Avalanche Software Studio that this feature will ever be added to the game.
This information is disappointing, but luckily this doesn’t mean broom flight was completely forgotten in Hogwarts Legacy! The game provides complex mechanics associated with broomsticks, allowing players’ characters to travel, explore and enjoy the beautiful open world from above. In the recent Gameplay, we saw the smooth animations, wind effects and beautiful sound effects that accompany broom flight. Developers really put a lot of work into this feature, creating a unique atmosphere and a useful tool at the same time.

“Brooms are more than just an item that you hop on and go from point A to point B,” said Game director Alan Tewshowed. During the gameplay showcase, developers explained that brooms have their own mechanics. As we saw a player fly up, the meter in the lower right corner was draining. When the player’s character stayed close to the ground, they could fly with maximum speed without draining the golden “broom meter”
This solution allows players to fly fast but close to the ground and explore the open world of the Hogwarts Legacy.
Further, there is a special brooms shop in Hogsmeade that sells various brooms, cosmetics and upgrades. Players can buy different broomsticks and customise them further. As a result, this feature gives the option to pick what fits better to the player’s character personality, taste or how they want to tell the story.
Also, in the special broom shop, players will be able to buy broomstick upgrades. We haven’t seen this menu or any related gameplay yet, so all we know is that upgrades can extend the broom meter and not only. As a result, a player will stay in the air for longer, fly higher or increase the broom speed with the different upgrades.
For Example, the brooms shop’s owner is trying to perfect the brooms, player can participate in it to unlock improved brooms and get better at flying!
Don’t forget you can now determine your character wand and Hogwarts house! Also, you can unlock some free accessories in Hogwarts Legacy right now, including a stylish new robe, mask and more!
