Enshrouded introduced the Grappling Hook for traversal. But is it available amidst combat to ease your way into victory?
The Grappling Hook in Enshrouded can prove useful in both combat and traversal. It is one of the first simple (yet complicated) machines that you can unlock in the game, if you know the recipe to it.
Combined with the wingsuit, the hook allows you to fully utilize the game’s traversal and travel faster to places you otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach for several minutes. Sometimes, the Grapple Hook is essential in reaching an area otherwise inaccessible.
However, one thing that would make this device useful even further is its addition to combat. And guess what? Keen Games are two steps ahead of us! The developers added Grappling Hook to the game’s combat system.
The ‘justified’ drawback here is that you can’t have access to this feature right away. We call it ‘justified’ because a feature as useful as this one deserves to be locked behind some wall to give it worthiness.
How To Grapple Hook an Enemy During Combat in Enshrouded
The fourth big update for Enshrouded, i.e. Souls of the Frozen Frontier, contained several new mechanics. The Grappling Hook also received a mechanical overhaul. Enshrouded developers made it more important by adding it into the game’s combat.
You can either pull an enemy towards you during an encounter or grapple up to them to close the distance. Both of these are abilities that you need to unlock in the skill tree.
Skills like the Grounding Hook will let you reel in ‘flying’ enemies towards you to deliver an easier melee attack. Moreover, you can unlock another ability that lets you grapple toward stronger and larger foes because you can’t pull them in anyway.
We activated both of the mechanics using the grappling button we had set via key-mapping. You should also be able to repeat the action when you press your designated grappling key.
