Clair Obscur Expedition 33 has tons of bosses for you to fight. All of these bosses require you to strategize differently, forcing you to experiment with your builds to find the optimal strategy. Once you power through and defeat these difficult bosses, the game then presents you with the Chromatic versions of these enemies. The Chromatic Goblu is the chromatic version of Goblu, one of the first bosses you fought early on in the game. The Chromatic Goblu takes everything you know about Goblu and throws it out the window by adding in an enhanced flower gimmick. If you thought Goblu was a tough fight, the Chromatic Goblu might seem invincible. If you’re stuck on this boss, we’re here to walk you through the fight. In this guide, we shall go over how to beat the Chromatic Goblu in Clair Obscur Expedition 33.

The Chromatic Goblu is weak to lightning, so we recommend using the Lightning-based skills in Lune’s arsenal to deal the highest possible damage. Even if you don’t have the Lightning-based damage, any element with the exception of Earth will help you get through this boss.
As you chip away at the boss’ HP, the boss will summon in flowers. The flowers are split into red and blue. The red flowers enhance the boss’ offense, helping it dish out a powerful attack. The blue flowers build up its defense, granting it shields. You can shoot these flowers to stop them. We recommend prioritizing the red flowers first to minimize the boss’ offense. Should you fail to take out the blue ones after the red, you can use Maelle’s Breaking Rules. This ability will let you cut through the defensive shield.
As far as the boss’ regular attacks go, they are stronger versions of attacks you’ve already seen from Goblu. The boss uses the Jump Attack you’re familiar with, but with a repetition of 7. These 7 hits have predictable parry windows, so parry and counterattack to deal damage. The second attack is his melee combo, which follows a similar parry window. Parry, counterattack, and destroy the flowers to beat the boss.
