Battle Preparations

The Chromatic Portier has no weaknesses, meaning you have to bring in your strongest damage-dealers for this fight. We recommend bringing in Maelle with skills such as Gommage and Sword Ballet. The latter requires high AP so bring in AP-granting Lumina to enable you to move the skill more often. Breaking Rules is another skill that will come in clutch as the boss uses shields. As far as defensive stuff goes, we recommend bringing in the Anti-Blight charm. The boss inflicts Blight and can cut your HP bar down very easily.

As soon as the fight begins, aim for the glowing red weak point on the boss’s chest. This will deal a chunk of damage early on, starting you off on the right foot. The boss will then use one of three fixed attacks. The first is a ground smash, where the boss “attacks the expedition.” In this 2-hit combo, the boss will use its arms to smash the ground, before lunging for one member of the party for the second hit. You can jump and counterattack the first hit, but watch for the long delay before the second hit. Parry as soon as the boss is about to land on you to counterattack.

The second attack is a similar ground smash where the boss “shakes the ground.” The boss will smash the ground for a 5-hit combo. This can be parried rhythmically.

The final attack is a melee combo. This attack is similar to the second one, but at a closer range. Parry the same way as you did the last one, but watch for the final hit, which is a gradient attack.
