Custom routes allow gamers to customize the paths receivers take to be open for a pass. Instead of using set-plays, gamers can design unique routes depending on their read on the game. Stems are the initial part of a route that sets up the defender before the receiver changes their direction.
To use these custom routes in CFB 25, gamers need to select the receiver for whom the customized route needs to be designed. During passing the ball while attacking, gamers need to press the triangle on PlayStation or Y on Xbox. Then the receiver using a custom route needs to be selected and flicking the left or right stick is required depending on the route.
Custom stems help in deciding the length of the run of a receiverg. This can be done by pressing the triangle on PlayStation or Y on Xbox while passing the ball. Gamers will then have to select the receiver running the custom route and hold L1 on PlayStation or LB on Xbox. Finally, depending on the opponent and their playstyle, gamers will have to flick up for a deep route or down for a short route.
