When dangers lurk in the shadows, the only thing players can trust is their weapons. The Forest offers a wide variety of weapons, each having its own purpose, such as melee, ranged, and throwables. Molotovs are one of the most effective and accessible projectiles in the game. These bad boys can almost one-shot cannibals and are used to clear large areas in no time, but they cannot be found in the wild, so players have to craft them.
But as the game begins, crafting different items and materials can be confusing. So, in this guide, players will learn how to craft Molotov cocktails and their uses.
How To Craft
To craft a Molotov in The Forest, players only need these components:
- 1x Bottle of Booze
- 1x Cloth
Players can find these components in the suitcases scattered around the island. Suitcases can be found near the plane crash site where players begin their journey. Also, some other places to find these items are campsites, cannibal villages, beaches, and near other small water bodies located on the island.
After gathering enough material, it’s time to craft a Molotov cocktail:
- Open your inventory (I).
- Right-click on the cloth and bottle of booze, which will add them to the crafting mat.
- Left-click on the gear icon.
- Molotov is ready to be equipped.
How To Use
After crafting enough Molotovs, equipping and using one is easy:
- Open inventory (I).
- Look for Molotov and left-click on it to equip.
- Close inventory and press (L) to equip the lighter.
- When players equip both the lighter and the Molotov, they can see a prompt to light it up.
- Hold (L) to ignite the Molotov.
Players can use these explosive throwables as a crowd control weapon because they cover a good area. Players can load Molotovs into a catapult to fire them at great distances.
Additionally, Molotovs can be used to craft Molotov wire traps. These traps are useful for clearing a good number of enemies. To make this trap, combine 1x stick, 3x cloth, and 1x Molotov. Molotov works very effectively against worms.
