The Tycoon is one of the most powerful new classes introduced in the July 4th update for Dead Rails, offering players a high-risk, high-reward playstyle that scales with how rich you are in-game. Here’s how it works and whether it’s a smart investment for your next run.

What Is the Tycoon Class in Dead Rails Roblox?

The Tycoon is a money-powered offensive class. Your melee and ranged damage, along with your max health, increase depending on how much cash you’re holding during the run. The buffs cap out at $2,000, so the richer you are, the stronger and tankier you become.

At full strength, you can one-shot Outlaws, easily handle Werewolves, and tank a serious amount of incoming damage. The class starts with only a shovel, but its potential skyrockets once you start stacking money.

How To Unlock the Tycoon Class

To get access to Tycoon, follow these steps:

  • Head to the Tailor in the lobby.
  • Scroll through the classes until you find Tycoon.
  • Spend 75 Bonds to unlock.

You can earn Bonds by:

  • Completing standard or Nightmare runs (usually 10–20 Bonds).
  • Finding them in POIs or abandoned structures.
  • Completing challenges during a run.

How Tycoon Buffs Work

For every dollar you hold, you gain about 0.1x extra damage and health, up to a maximum of $2,000. That means:

  • At $2,000, you get +200% total damage and HP.
  • You can reach 175 HP at full capacity.
  • You’ll deal enough damage to one-shot even tougher enemies like Werewolves (with a headshot from a strong weapon).

Tycoon Class: Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Massive scaling with money. Turns you into a tanky powerhouse.
  • Permanent buffs until you spend cash.
  • Can dominate towns and POIs with ease.
  • Excellent synergy with High Roller or other cash-focused teammates.

Cons:

  • Requires discipline. Spending money weakens you.
  • Weak early game until you build up cash.
  • Struggles in money-limited challenges like Fistful of Dollars.
  • Not ideal for public lobbies, money is often shared.

Is Tycoon Worth It?

Yes, with a few conditions. Tycoon is arguably the best solo class in the game right now if you’re playing efficiently. The scaling is incredibly strong, and you don’t have to rely on others like the King class does. As long as you can manage your spending and hoard money, you’ll become nearly unstoppable.

If you’re someone who likes optimizing your runs, soloing, or just wants to feel overpowered without depending on teammates, Tycoon is absolutely worth the 75 Bonds.
