Learn about the Albedo Wing God Roll for PVE and PVP content, the best perks, and how to get it in this Destiny 2 guide!
Albedo Wing is an arc aggressive frame glaive reintroduced in Episode: Revenant for the 2024 Festival of the Lost event. This is the second iteration of the Albedo Wing, but only the most current one is available. Glaives of all frames are very niche weapons that require you to build craft into their usage quite a bit. By far their most useful feature is their guard ability, which grants quite a bit of protection in both PvE and PvP. This guide will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the Albedo Wing Glaive.
How to Get Albedo Wing in Destiny 2
You obtain Albedo Wing by using the Gifts in Return consumables you receive from giving Dawning Cookies to various NPCs. Turn in those Gifts in Return for Festive Engrams or use them to focus the weapon at Eva Levante in the Tower. You need to unlock the appropriate Dawning upgrades to focus the weapon. You must unlock the Giftwrap Exchange Ticket upgrade to turn them in for Festive Engrams, and the Limited Exchange Ticket upgrade to focus the weapon. This weapon can only be obtained during the Dawning event, so get it while you can.
You can unlock multiple trait selections on this weapon by getting the Perky Presents and Perkier Presents Dawning upgrades.
What Is the Albedo Wing God Roll in Destiny 2?
God rolls are highly sought after because they are typically the best combination of stats and traits available on a particular weapon. Because the sandbox differs in PvE and PvP, there are typically god rolls for each one. The Braytech Werewolf has some great perks that will let it do well in both PvE and PvP. Despite being one of the few aggressive frame glaives in the game, the Albedo Wing is just another fairly decent glaive with perks that look powerful on paper but are poor in practice. This is true of both PvE and PvP.
PvE Albedo Wing God Roll
The best perks for the Albedo Wing PvE God Roll are Auxiliary Reserves, Alloy Magazine, Grave Robber, and Close to Melee. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Albedo Wing PvE God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Haft: Auxiliary Reserves
- Magazine: Alloy Magazine
- Column 3 Trait: Grave Robber
- Column 4 Trait: Close to Melee
- Masterwork: Shield Duration
- Origin Trait: Dawning Surprise
- Weapon Mod: Heavy Ammo Finder Enhancement
PvE Breakdown
There isn’t any beating around the bush here. Glaives like the Albedo Wing are some of the most niche weapons in the game. Their primary draw is for the use of their shield to be able to tank more hits than typical in PvE. That is what you need to build into to make glaives an effective choice for your loadout in Destiny 2. Auxiliary Reserves and a Sheild Duration masterwork combined can add nearly 3 seconds to the duration of the shield, making them easy choices to enhance the Albedo Wings main use case. Alloy Magazine will increase the horrible reload speed of the weapon for those rare times when a manual reload is necessary.
Speaking of manual reloads, the Albedo Wing has the trait Grave Robber which should make manual reload all but unnecessary on the weapon. Simply get a melee kill to reload the glaive from reserves. You can also find the trait Voltshot on this weapon, but the horrible reload speed on glaives makes this a hard trait to recommend on them. Instead, shoot for Close to Melee which increases your glaive melee damage for every kill you get with the glaive projectile. Overall, the Albedo Wing is just another glaive in PvE, which means you probably already have one that does what it can do.
PvP Albedo Wing God Roll
The best perks for the Albedo Wing PvP God Roll are Tempered Truss Rod, Swap Mag, Closing Time, and Close to Melee. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Albedo Wing PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Haft: Tempered Truss Rod
- Magazine: Swap Mag
- Column 3 Trait: Closing Time
- Column 4 Trait: Close to Melee
- Masterwork: Range
- Origin Trait: Dawning Surprise
- Weapon Mod: Freehand Grip
PvP Breakdown
If glaives are a niche choice in PvE, they are even more so in PvP. They are difficult to use effectively but can be decent choices in the right hands. The Albedo Wing does a decent job in PvP, but it doesn’t do anything that makes it remarkable. Since you will need to swap to the glaive quickly, we want to make the handling as good as possible. Tempered Truss Rod and Swap Mag will get the swap to the fastest speed possible passively.
To get the handling and other stats of the weapon even higher, it is hard to look at any other trait other than Closing Time. It is one of the most powerful perks on special weapons in PvP as it will almost always be active. Note that aggressive frame glaives have a very low magazine size so it may be more or less difficult to have Closing Time active. Close to Melee isn’t anything spectacularly great in PvP, but its still the best perk to use in Column 4. All things considered, Albedo Wing isn’t anything spectacular in PvP, but its a serviceable weapon if you need a glaive.
