Learn about the Arcane Embrace God Roll for PVE and PVP content, the best perks, and how to get it in this Destiny 2 guide!
Arcane Embrace is an arc heavy-burst shotgun introduced in Episode: Revenant for the 2024 Festival of the Lost event. The Arcane Embrace is the first of its kind in Destiny 2. Heavy-burst shotguns quickly fire two slugs with one trigger pull, making them excellent for dealing damage in PvE. The Arcane Embrace can be enhanced, improving its perks. This guide will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the Arcane Embrace shotgun.
How to Get Arcane Embrace in Destiny 2
You obtain Arcane Embrace from Haunted Lost Sectors during the Festival of the Lost event. You can also turn in Eerie engrams and focus the weapon at Eva Levante in the Tower. This weapon can only be obtained during the Festival of the Lost event, so get it while you can.
What Is the Arcane Embrace God Roll in Destiny 2?
Typically, a god roll is the best combination of perks and masterwork that a weapon can get. Because they are the best version of a weapon, they are highly sought after. Because the sandbox differs in PvE and PvP, there are typically god rolls for each one. The new heavy-burst shotgun has a lot going for it in PvE and is worth going for. However, it isn’t the best weapon type to use in PvP despite having decent perk options.
PvE Arcane Embrace God Roll
The best perks for the Arcane Embrace PvE God Roll are Arrowhead Brake, Tactical Mag, Fourth Times the Charm, and Precision Instrument. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Arcane Embrace PvE God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
- Magazine: Tactical Mag
- Column 3 Trait: Fourth Times the Charm
- Column 4 Trait: Precision Instrument
- Masterwork: Reload Speed
- Origin Trait: Search Party
- Weapon Mod: Tactical
PvE Breakdown
While their popularity has waned somewhat, shotguns are still an effective choice in PvE. The heavy burst frame fires two slugs per trigger pull that deal quite a bit of damage. The Arcane Embrace can deal some massive damage relatively quickly and, with the right perks, can be elevated into one of the better PvE shotguns in the game.
Since the Arcane Embrace fires slugs rather than pellets, we want to treat it like a slug shotgun with our perk selections. Arrowhead Brake is as always a great option for our barrel for its improvement in recoil and handling. We can only increase the magazine size by two slugs making Tactical Mag the best magazine option for the bonus it can provide to stability as well. Fourth Times the Charm is an obvious choice for this weapon, especially considering this archetype’s abysmal reload speed. This pairs perfectly with the trait Precision Instrument which will increase our damage for every hit on an enemy until we miss.
Since this is a very new archetype, it’s unknown exactly where it will fit into the sandbox and how effective it will be. That being said, it is already putting out some great damage numbers and seems relatively easy to use. This isn’t a shotgun you will want to miss out on, so make sure you grab one before the Festival of the Lost ends. Make sure you keep the curated roll that Eva gives you for completing the Festival of the Lost introduction quest as it is unique and has perks that can’t otherwise be obtained on the weapon.
PvP Arcane Embrace God Roll
The best perks for the Arcane Embrace PvP God Roll are Hammer-Forged Rifling, Accurized Rounds, Slideshot, and Closing Time. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Arcane Embrace PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
- Magazine: Accurized Rounds
- Column 3 Trait: Slideshot
- Column 4 Trait: Closing Time
- Masterwork: Range
- Origin Trait: Search Party
- Weapon Mod: Ballistics
PvP Breakdown
Shotguns are very common weapon in PvP due to their ease of use and ability to remove a close-range threat very quickly. Unfortunately, the new Heavy Burst frame does not fare well in PvP. It takes two shots to kill an enemy guardian and one of them has to be precision hit. This makes them less effective than both pellet and slug shotguns for either of those weapons’ particular use cases.
If you are deadset on taking the Arcane Embrace into PvP then there are still some perk options you should go for. As with most slug shotguns in PvP, we want to get our range up as much as possible. Hammer-forged Rifling and Accurized Rounds are still the best options for this. When it comes to the primary traits, Slideshot is always great for shotguns for its reload capability and its stat increase. Closing Time is a great perk for special weapons as it will normally automatically be activated as soon as you pull out the weapon.
I cannot in any way recommend this weapon for PvP. Base Pinpoint Slug Frames deal with enemies at a range much better, and other archetypes are more forgiving with their shot placement. Save this one for PvE and take literally almost any other shotgun into PvP instead.
FAQ about the Arcane Embrace God Roll Guide
Q1. Can I get the Arcane Embrace when Festival of the Lost is over?
Answer: No, you cannot get the Arcane Embrace after Festival of the Lost ends. If you missed the Festival of the Lost in 2024 you will need to wait until the next one which should occur around Halloween 2025. Note that Bungie does not always bring every weapon back for every event.
Q2. How does Arcane Embrace compare to other shotguns in Destiny 2?
Answer: Arcane Embrace is currently unique in the Destiny 2 Sandbox. Its closest comparison is Pinpoint Slug Frame shotguns as they also fire precision slugs albeit only one at a time. It currently has the potential to be one of the better damage-dealing shotguns in the game for PvE. Conversely, Arcane Embrace is looking to be one of the worst options for PvP.
