Critical Anomaly is a stasis aggressive frame sniper rifle introduced during the Final Shape expansion in the Salvation’s Edge raid. It is a great stasis option for sniper rifles, offering several interesting perk options. Sniper Rifles are great options during damage phases that require long-range in PvE. Snipers are also favored options in PvE, although aggressive frames tend to be less favored than adaptive frames.

Critical Anomaly PvE God Roll
The best perks for the Critical Anomaly PVE God Roll are Arrowhead Brake, Extended Magazine, Reconstruction, and Bait and Switch. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Critical Anomaly PVE God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
- Magazine: Extended Mag
- Column 3 Trait: Reconstruction
- Column 4 Trait: Bait and Switch
- Masterwork: Handling
- Origin Trait: Collective Purpose
- Weapon Mod: Back-Up Mag
Most sniper rifles benefit from increased handling and more rounds in the magazine, so Arrowhead Brake and Extended Mag are natural choices. Critical Anomaly has several great options. the best combination being Reconstruction and Bait and Switch. The combination provides the greatest benefit toward boss damage phases in raid activities. On the other hand, something like Reconstruction and Triple Tap could create a situation where you rarely have to reload the weapon. That sacrifices having a damage perk but could be useful in certain situations.
Overall, the Critical Anomaly is the best of its kind as a stasis aggressive frame sniper rifle. It hits hard and is a great option to have during stasis surges in raids and Nightfalls.
Critical Anomaly PvP God Roll
The best perks for the Critical Anomaly PVP God Roll are Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, Opening Shot, and Snapshot Sights. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Critical Anomaly PVP God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Fluted Barrel
- Magazine: Accurized Rounds
- Column 3 Trait: Opening Shot
- Column 4 Trait: Snapshot Sights
- Masterwork: Handling
- Origin Trait: Collective Purpose
- Weapon Mod: Quick Access Sling (Adept Handling)
Critical Anomaly has all the right stats and perks to make it a great PvP sniper rifle. Like most aggressive frames, it lacks Aim Assist and fires more slowly, but the Critical Anomaly checks all the other boxes. Perks like Opening Shot and Snapshot Sights make this sniper great for quick target acquisition. I doubt that it will ever be a meta option, but it will perform in the right hands.
Overall, aggressive frame sniper rifles aren’t typically anyone’s first choice in PvP. That being said, the Critical Anomaly can perform in the Crucible just as well as any other option. Maybe not worth farming for, but if you get one its worth trying your hand at using.
