Destiny 2 Imminence Strand Submachine Gun

This guide has been updated for Episode: Echoes and The Final Shape expansion.

Imminence is a strand lightweight frame submachine gun introduced during the Final Shape expansion in the Salvation’s Edge raid. It looks to be a great option in both PvE and PvP. Lightweight frame submachine guns are favored in both PvE and PvP for their ease of use. The awesome perk options on the Imminence make it a force to be reckoned with, especially for those looking for a Strand primary.

The best perks for the Imminence PVE God Roll are Smallbore, Flared Magwell, Demolitionist, and Chaos Reshaped. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for the Imminence PVE God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Barrel: Smallbore
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
  • Column 3 Trait: Demolitionist
  • Column 4 Trait: Chaos Reshaped
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed
  • Origin Trait: Collective Purpose
  • Weapon Mod: Back-Up Mag

This lightweight submachine benefits from basic stat increases and improving its reload speed. Smallbore and Flared Magwell help a lot with this weapon. Unlike most primaries, avoid Appended Mag or Extended Mag as they won’t help the magazine capacity enough to make them worthwhile. Imminence has no bad perk options and your build will determine what perks are best on the weapon. The most useful perks in the most common situations are Demolitionist and Chaos Reshaped. You could easily opt for something like Pugilist and Firefly instead or even Slice and Hatchling to play into Strand synergy.

Overall, Imminence is just a great weapon with great perks. It is a hard weapon to go wrong with. Lightweight frame submachine guns are already popular and this one’s perk pool makes it one worth keeping multiple copies of.

The best perks for the Imminence PVP God Roll are Hammer-Forged Rifling, Accurized Rounds, Perpetual Motion, and Kill Clip. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for the Imminence PVP God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Column 3 Trait: Perpetual Motion
  • Column 4 Trait: Kill Clip
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Origin Trait: Collective Purpose
  • Weapon Mod: Targeting Adjuster

Just as in PvE, Lightweight frames are favored in PvP. They suffer from a lower range stat, so perks like Hammer-Forged Rifling and Accurized Rounds help deal with that weakness. Unlike our PvE roll, the main perk options are a bit more limited but still quite effective. Perpetual Motion is always a great choice in PvP as you should never stop moving. Kill Clip is a PvP staple perk, rewarding kills by making it easier to get more.

There are a couple of decent options for a kinetic slot PvP submachine gun, so Imminence is making any waves. That being said, it is an effective option and shouldn’t be looked at poorly.
