Mercurial Overreach is a great sniper rifle to go for especially for PvP. Sniper Rifles are great options for PvE and PvP. They do decent damage to bosses in long range situations in PvE. They are a favorite in PvP allowing for one shot kills, provided you can hit your headshots.

PvE Mercurial Overreach Roll

Slot | Trait |
---|---|
Barrel | Hammer-Forged Rifling |
Magazine | Appended Mag |
Column 3 Trait | Firmly Planted |
Column 4 Trait | Vorpal Weapon |
Stock | Hand-Laid Stock |
Masterwork | Range |
Mod | Boss Spec |
Barrel: More Range helps even in PvE. Anything will honestly work here though.
Magazine: Appended Mag gives us another bullet in the mag which is very good for PvE.
Column 3 Trait: There aren’t really a lot of great perks in Column 3 for PvE. The best option is Firmly Planted and honestly its still not a great option.
Column 4 Trait: Vorpal Weapon helps do more damage against bosses. No other perk is really great here.
Stock: The best option for stocks in PvE is probably Hand-Laid Stock for its increase in Stability. That being said any option here will work.
Masterwork: More Range helps even in PvE. Anything will honestly work here though.
Mods: Snipers are typically used for boss phases in PvE, so Boss Spec is the best option.
Conclusion: Its clear that this weapon was made for PvP. There just aren’t really any great options for PvE. Save on grinding this one for PvE and go for the PvP roll.
PvP Mercurial Overreach God Roll

Slot | Trait |
---|---|
Barrel | Hammer-Forged Rifling |
Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
Column 3 Trait | Snapshot Sights |
Column 4 Trait | Opening Shot |
Stock | Short-Action Stock |
Masterwork | Range |
Mod | Targeting Adjuster |
Barrel: More range is great on Sniper Rifles in PvP in order to help the accuracy cone. Hammer-Forged Rifling is a great option, but anything that adds to Range or Handling are good options.
Magazine: Ricochet Rounds is the best choice in PvP due to the Stability and Range buff.
Column 3 Trait: Snapshot Sights is considered a must have perk on snipers allowing for quick ADS speeds which can make or break the ability to get a crispy headshot.
Column 4 Trait: Considering your first shot with a sniper rifle is what makes or breaks your success with the engagement, Opening Shot is an absolutely amazing perk. It grants a huge boost to range and aim assist.
Stock: More Handling means faster ADS and swap speed. Short-Action Stock is the best option for this.
Masterwork: More range is great on Sniper Rifles in PvP in order to help the accuracy cone. A Handling masterwork would also work here.
Mods: Helping the aim assist stat is another important PvP option, so Targeting Adjuster is a great pick.
Conclusion: This sniper rifle is basically a perfect option for PvP. And considering its a reward for a ranked PvP mode that makes sense. Absolutely worth chasing, its only downside is its limited ability to be farmed.
