Mercurial Overreach is an Adaptive Frame Arc Sniper Rifle introduced as a Competitive Crucible reward during Season of the Deep. It is a great sniper rifle to go for, especially for PvP. Most Sniper Rifles are great options for PvE and PvP.

This Sniper is a decent PvE option, but it really shines in PvP. While not easy to farm anymore, it is still worth grabbing a few to get at least one good one. The Mercurial Overreach is one of the better Sniper Rifles in PvP.

Mercurial Overreach is only decent in PvE, but it can be used. Arrowhead Brake helps with recoil and handling, while Appended Mag gets some extra rounds in the magazine. Hand-Laid Stock bumps up the Stability of the sniper rifle with no negative benefits.
We only have one good combination for PvE on this weapon: Firmly Planted and Vorpal Weapon. And while this can be effective, it is just not anywhere close to being the best. It is clear that this weapon was made for PvP. There just aren’t really any great options for PvE. Save on grinding this one for PvE and go for the PvP roll.

This Sniper Rifle was literally made for PvP. More range is great on Sniper Rifles in PvP in order to help the accuracy cone. Hammer-Forged Rifling is a great option, but anything that adds to Range or Handling is a good option. Ricochet Rounds and Short-Action Stock are great options to help boost our stats as well. Go with either Range or Handling for the Masterwork to get the most out of this already amazing weapon.
Mercurial Overreach gets one of the best PvP combos for its main traits. Snapshot Sights is always great for PvP to get those nice crispy quick-scope shots. Opening Shot makes sure we land that shot. It’s just an amazing perk combination on an already great-feeling sniper rifle. Like all the competitive reward weapons, Mercurial Overreach was made for PvP.

Mercurial Overreach is a legacy Competitive Playlist reward weapon. It can only be acquired from Lord Shaxx in the Legacy focusing tab for 3 Crucible Engrams and 25000 Glimmer. To purchase it, you must complete your competitive division placement series. The number that can be bought per week is dependent on your Seasonal Competitive Rank, from 1 at Copper to 7 at Ascendant.
