Mistral Lift is a void adaptive burst frame linear fusion rifle introduced in Episode: Revenant for the 2024 Dawning event. Linear fusion rifles are powerful damage options in PvE but have fallen out of favor for more burst damage weapons like rocket and grenade launchers. There are still situations when a linear fusion may be preferable though, so they are still good to keep in your arsenal. The Mistral Lift can be enhanced, improving its perks. This guide will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the Mistral Lift linear fusion rifle.

How to Get Mistral Lift in Destiny 2

You obtain Mistral Lift by using the Gifts in Return consumables you receive from giving Dawning Cookies to various NPCs. Turn in those Gifts in Return for Festive Engrams or use them to focus the weapon at Eva Levante in the Tower. You need to unlock the appropriate Dawning upgrades to focus the weapon. You must unlock the Giftwrap Exchange Ticket upgrade to turn them in for Festive Engrams, and the Limited Exchange Ticket upgrade to focus the weapon. This weapon can only be obtained during the Dawning event, so get it while you can.

You can unlock multiple trait selections on this weapon by getting the Perky Presents and Perkier Presents Dawning upgrades.

What Is the Mistral Lift God Roll in Destiny 2?

God rolls are highly sought after because they are typically the best combination of stats and traits available on a particular weapon. Because the sandbox differs in PvE and PvP, there are typically god rolls for each one. The Mistral Lift has one of the single most powerful god rolls for a PvE linear fusion rifle in the current sandbox. That being said, linear fusion rifles are not great options for PvP, and the Mistral Lift’s traits don’t help that stigma at all.

PvE Mistral Lift God Roll

The best perks for the Mistral Lift PvE God Roll are Arrowhead Brake, Enhanced Battery, Envious Assassin, and Bait and Switch. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for the Mistral Lift PvE God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Battery: Enhanced Battery
  • Column 3 Trait: Envious Assassin
  • Column 4 Trait: Bait and Switch
  • Masterwork: Charge Time
  • Origin Trait: Veist Stinger
  • Weapon Mod: Backup Mag

PvE Breakdown

With its debut during the 2024 Dawning event, the Mistral Lift became one of the best Linear Fusion Rifles in the game almost immediately. It comes with some of the best perks you can get on any heavy weapon in general. As an aggressive burst frame, it does require a little more finesse to use effectively, but can still do some tremendous damage. Arrowhead Brake will help keep its recoil in line and is not a surprising choice on our god roll. Enhanced Battery and Backup Mag will each get us another burst in the magazine which will increase our total damage without needing a reload.

The Mistral Lift is loaded up with some of the most powerful perks in the game. The obvious best combination of Envious Assassin and Bait and Switch is found on this weapon. Just use all your weapons before firing out the linear fusion rifle’s battery, swap back and fire your other two weapon, and then your Mistral Lift will be reloaded. But even if you don’t get this best combination there are still several other traits that are powerful. Envious Assassin and Reconstruction are also found in Column 3, and Column 4 includes traits like Firing Line, Precision Instrument, and Vorpal Weapon. While these options are less effective than the god roll, they are still powerful options in their own right.

The Mistral Lift is easily one of if not the best linear fusion rifle currently in Destiny 2. Make sure you get yourself a good roll before the Dawning ends.

PvP Mistral Lift God Roll

The best perks for the Mistral Lift PvP God Roll are Hammer-Forged Rifling, Projection Fuse, Keep Away, and High-Impact Reserves. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for the Mistral Lift PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Battery: Projection Fuse
  • Column 3 Trait: Keep Away
  • Column 4 Trait: High-Impact Reserves
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Origin Trait: Veist Stinger
  • Weapon Mod: Ballistics

PvP Breakdown

Linear fusion rifles are not typically used in PvP. At least not the legendary heavy ones as they take just a bit too long to get a kill. The adaptive burst frames can get a kill in a single burst if all three bolts hit, but machine guns and grenade launchers are just so much easier to use.

If you must use the Mistral Lift in PvP, do everything you can to increase its range. Even though linear fusion rifles have no damage drop-off, the accuracy of the weapon at further distances is still effected by the range stat. Hammer-Forged Rifling and Projection Fuse are typical go-to traits to increase the range of linear fusion rifles. Since we will be using the weapon at a long range anyway, Keep Away is a great choice in column 3 as it improves the weapon when no enemies are nearby. In addition to this, High-Impact Reserves will also increase the damage of the weapon when its magazine isn’t full, which will be every time it is used in PvP.

Strictly speaking, this weapon is a PvE weapon and you should absolutely chase it down, but only for its PvE roll. Don’t waste time chasing this weapon for its less-than-stellar PvP power.
