Destiny 2 Nox Perennial V Fusion Rifle
Nox Perennial V Fusion Rifle

The Nox Perennial V is a High-Impact Frame Strand Fusion Rifle introduced in Season of the Witch that can be obtained randomly legendary engrams and the Gunsmith. Fusion Rifles are great weapons in both PvP and PvE. High-Impact Frames tend to do better in PvP than PvE due to their more forgiving number of bolts needed for a kill.

Why You Should Get the Nox Perennial V Fusion Rifle?

You should get Nox Perennial V because it pairs well with Strand build. It also can be decently effective in PvP. Here’s our list of why you should get the Nox Perennial V fusion rifle:

  • Decent strand synergy
  • Decent in PvP

How to Obtain the Nox Perennial V in Destiny 2

Nox Perennial V can be obtained from any legendary engram drop or from Banshee-44. This includes legendary engrams and pinnacle engrams. Banshee-44 will sometimes sell specific rolls in his rotating inventory.

Nox Perennial V PvE God Roll

Our choices for the Heliocentric QSc PvE God Roll are:

ColumnTrait
BarrelArrowhead Brake
BatteryLiquid Coils
Column 3 TraitLoose Change
Column 4 TraitHatchling
MasterworkRange

Nox Perennial really only has one thing going for it in PvE and that is synergizing with a Strand build. Its barrel perks don’t matter too much as anything will do. For its battery, Liquid Coils is great for giving the weapon more damage. You could also go for Accelerated Coils as well to improve DPS but at the cost of total damage. For the masterwork Range is great, but Charge Time may be a decent choice now too as they removed the Impact penalty from it.

To synergize with Strand the best, then Hatchling is the best choice for Column 4. Controlled Burst is great for general use cases. In Column 3 Loose Change is a new perk that may be worth using. There are a few other perks in this column that are useful such as Envious Assassin, Threat Detector, or Under Pressur.

This weapon isn’t the best for PvE. It can synergize well with Strand, but honestly you are better off just using something like Quicksilver Storm for that. I’d skip this one.

Other great fusion rifles to substitute for this weapon in PvE include:

  • Techeun Force, from the Last Wish raid
  • Iterative Loop, from activities on Neomuna
  • Riptide, from the Crucible

Nox Perennial V PvP God Roll

Our choices for the Nox Perennial V PvP God Roll are:

ColumnTrait
BarrelHammer-Forged Rifling
BatteryProjection Fuse
Column 3 TraitThreat Detector
Column 4 TraitKickstart
MasterworkRange

Nox should be much more effective in PvP than PvE. Like most weapons, the most effective thing to do is get its range as high as you can. Note that Fusion Rifles also benefit from Stability more so than other weapons, so if you get perks that improve stability that isn’t a bad thing. Really any masterwork other than reload speed would be effective on this weapon for PvP.

Before this season Under Pressure would have been the absolute best pick for Column 3. With its recent nerf, its not a bad option, but Threat Detector may just be slightly better now. In Column, Elemental Capacitor and Kickstart are the best options. Overall while this weapon is better for PvP than PvE, its still not one I would chase.

Other great fusion rifles to substitute for this weapon in PvP include:

  • Snorri FR5, from random world drops and Banshee-44
  • Techeun Force, from the Last Wish raid
  • Iterative Loop, from activities on Neomuna
