The Strand Warlocks, also called Broodweavers, are telekinetic sorcerers that manipulate the Weave; even twisting Strand into creatures that do their bidding. In the guide, we present all known Abilities, Aspects & Fragments, also how to unlock them.
Strand Warlock (Broodweaver): Abilities, Aspects & Fragments
In Destiny 2, Guardians use the Solar, Void and Arc elements by wielding the power of Light granted by the Traveler. Stasis is the first darkness subclass, introduced in Beyond Light Expansion. Strand is the second manifestation of the darkness in elemental form.
Strand flows through you. As it flows through everything
Needlestorm Super Ability
After embedding themselves in the environment, the needles will re-weave into a host of Threadlings. Threadlings you create will return to you and perch if they can’t find any nearby targets. Damaging targets with your weapons or melee will send out perched Threadlings to attack
Arcane Needle Melee Ability
Sling a woven needle that will embed in your target, unraveling them. Activate your melee ability again to chain up to two additional attacks.
Grapple Grenade Ability
Weave a grappling hook, and quickly pull yourself forward. Grappling to a Tangle immediately recharges your grenade energy. During and shortly after grappling, your melee attack deals area damage and unravels targets.
Shackle Grenade Ability
A thrown weapon of weighted Strand matter that detonates on impact, suspending targets and creating additional suspending subprojectiles.
Threadling Grenade Ability
A woven projectile that reweaves itself into Threadlings while in flight.
Weaver’s Call Aspect
Cast your Rift to weave three Threadlings and deploy any Threadlings you have perched. Your call weaves a path into existence. A chirp rings out, eager to answer.
Mindspun Invocation Aspect
Your grapple, Shackle Grenade, and Threadling Grenade have enhanced functionality. Your grapple melee spawns three Threadling eggs.
[Grenade]: Hold to consume your Shackle Grenade and activate Weaver’s Trance. Final blows while Weaver’s Trance is active create a suspending detonation.
[Grenade]: Hold to consume your Threadling Grenade and immediately generate five perched Threadlings.
Thread of Ascent Fragment
Activating your grenade ability reloads your equipped weapon and grants bonus airborne effectiveness and handling for a short duration.
Stat Increase: +10 Mobility
Thread of Binding Fragment
Super final blows emit a suspending burst from the target.
Stat Increase: +10 Resilience
Thread of Continuity Fragment
Suspend, unravel, and sever effects applied to targets have increased duration.
Stat Increase: +10 Strength
Thread of Evolution Fragment
Threadlings travel farther and deal additional damage.
Stat Increase: +10 Intellect
Thread of Finality Fragment
Finisher final blows create Threadlings.
Stat Increase: +10 Recovery
Thread of Fury Fragment
Damaging targets with a Tangle grants melee energy.
Stat Increase: -10 Strength
Thread of Generation Fragment
Dealing damage generates grenade energy.
Stat Increase: -10 Discipline
Thread of Isolation Fragment
Landing rapid precision hits emits a severing burst from the target.
Thread of Mind Fragment
Defeating suspended targets grants class ability energy.
Thread of Propagation Fragment
Powered melee final blows grant your Strand weapons Unraveling Rounds.
Thread of Rebirth Fragment
Strand weapon final blows have a chance to create a Threadling.
Thread of Transmutation Fragment
While you have Woven Mail, weapon final blows create a Tangle.
Stat Increase: +10 Strength
Thread of Warding Fragment
Picking up an Orb of Power grants Woven Mail.
Stat Increase: -10 Resilience
Thread of Wisdom Fragment
While you have Woven Mail, weapon final blows create a Tangle.
Strand Subclass
Stasis was the first subclass that came out with Stasis 3.0 – the system that includes the aspects and fragments to make classes more customisable and powerful. Soon after, over months, other subclasses received 3.0 reworks. With the release of Lightfall expansion, guardians can use Strand Subclass 3.0, adding more playstyles, builds, powerful weapons, and unique abilities to the game.
How to unlock Strand Subclass
To unlock the Strand subclass, players must own Ligthfall expansion and complete the main campaign in order to get access to all abilities. Additionally, to unlock aspects and fragments, players must buy them from the special Vendor marked on the map above.
Players must collect the Strand Meditations – the currency that they can spend at the Pouka Pond to unlock additional Strand grenades, Aspects and Fragments. The Strand Meditations are the reward for using Strand abilities anywhere in the system and completing activities in Neomuna. Additionally, players can earn the currency from all sources while they are in the Vex Incrusion Zone in Neomuna.
- Each Aspect cost 150 Strand Meditations
- Each Fragment Cost 200 Strand Meditations
- Each Granade Ability Cost 50 Strand Meditations
The best place to farm Strand Meditations is located in the Neomuna world activity called Vex Incursion Zone.
