Remember the Disciple Symbols
Just like the first encounter, you will need to be familiar with the Disciple symbol calls in this dungeon. This will help a lot in making the puzzle-solving much faster so you can start the DPS phase as soon as possible.
Boss Mechanic: Locking in Symbols
During the fight in Destiry 2 Sundered Doctrine, the Zoetic Lockset boss will periodically shine a light on one of the wheels. This happens when the Lockset Progression bar at the top of the screen reaches 75%. Each symbol the boss locks in will trigger an action. Your main goal is to get enough time to deal damage to the boss and complete the dungeon.
Here are some key mechanics you need to take note of:
- The boss will shine a light on the rightmost wheel first.
- The currently glowing symbol on that wheel will be locked in and engraved on one of the four pillars at the front of the arena.
- The boss will then move left, locking in symbols from the remaining wheels one by one.
- Each locked-in symbol triggers a specific action in the encounter.
Why Switching the Glow Matters
The blocks lock in whichever symbol is glowing on the wheel. This means you have control over what actions you want to activate. However, you need to time it correctly in order to get the most optimal actions for the boss fight.
Here is a quick rundown on each symbol and their respective actions:
- Hive: Summons an Ogre on each side of the arena.
- Knowledge: Summons Hive Knight and Wizards
- Commune: The boss will initiate an attack.
- Stop: Enemies will not spawn.
- Kill: Starts the DPS phase for the boss fight.
The most optimal action sequence is Stop > Stop > Stop > Kill. This will prevent enemies from spawning and start the DPS phase for the second encounter in the Destiny 2 Sundered Doctrine dungeon.
How To Switch the Glowing Symbols in Sundered Doctrine Second Encounter
Your first objective is to check the rightmost wheel and identify which symbol is currently glowing. If it corresponds to the action you need, you can leave it as is and focus on adjusting the other wheels before the Lockset Progression bar reaches 75% in the second encounter of Destiny 2.
You can control which symbols glow by picking up Darkness Resonance by killing Wizards and feeding it to the podium beneath the wheel. The number of resonances you provide will determine how far the glow moves on the wheel.
The wheel rotates in a set direction. You can switch the rotation by shooting the Crux at the top of the wheel. It can only rotate in clockwise or counterclockwise direction.
