Truthteller is a void lightweight frame grenade launcher reintroduced into the world loot pool during Episode Echoes. Lightweight frame grenade launchers are typically used as support weapons in PvE to blind enemies. In the Crucible, they are sometimes used as set-up or clean-up weapons with bows or hand cannons. The Truthteller can be enhanced, granting it access to enhanced perks in Columns 3 and 4. In this guide, we will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the Truthteller grenade launcher.

You obtain the Truthteller from any Legendary engram source, Banshee-44, or from Legendary Lost Sectors. Legendary Lost Sectors rotate daily and the available weapons also rotate with them. As a world drop weapon, the Yarovit MG4 can be awarded from any reward source that does not pull from any direct playlist loot pool.
What Is the Truthteller God Roll in Destiny 2?
A god roll is the best combination of perks and masterwork that a weapon can get. God rolls are often sought after as they are considered the ultimate drop of that weapon and the most effective roll used in most content. In most situations, there are two god rolls for any gun, a roll for PvE and one for PvP. Truthteller has a decent PvE and PvP god roll, but neither of them are particularly unique or powerful. It can still fill the slot that other lightweight frame grenade launchers can though.
PvE Truthteller God Roll
The best perks for the Truthteller PvE God Roll are Quick Launch, Disorienting Grenades, Grave Robber, and Harmony. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

PvE Breakdown
Lightweight frame grenade launchers like the Truthteller almost all fit the same role in the PvE sandbox. They are used as utility weapons to blind enemies in higher-difficulty content. This works because an enemy not shooting at you is one not able to kill you in one or two shots allowing you to take your time taking out each enemy. To do this you will most assuredly need the Disorienting Grenades trait on the launcher. You will want to get handling up for faster swapping as well, so Quick Launch and a Tactical mod are good options to have as well.
The main traits in Columns 3 and 4 don’t affect the general gameplay of the weapon for its use case but can still help Truthteller in general. Grave Robber gives your guardian the ability to reload the weapon by getting a melee kill which can helpful but doesn’t particularly fit into the use case of the weapon. Harmony increases the damage of the grenade launcher when you get a kill with another weapon. Again not overly helpful to how we will be using the weapon, but is still just generally useful.
PvP Truthteller God Roll
The best perks for the Truthteller PvP God Roll are Quick Launch, High-Velocity Rounds, Grave Robber, and Harmony. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

PvP Breakdown
Almost all special ammo grenade launchers are used the same way in PvP just in slightly different ways. They are used to clean up or set up a kill with another weapon, as they don’t typically do enough damage to get the kill with their single grenade. Because of this handling is by far the most important stat as it will help you swap weapons faster. Quick Launch is the best barrel to get your handling up as high as possible. Most of the grenade options change how the grenades work, with High-Velocity Rounds being the one that effects the grenade type the least. You could opt for a Spike Grenade or Proximity Grenade roll as well if those more suit your playstyle, but they completely change how the grenade works.
Again Column 3 doesn’t give us much in terms of helpfulness when it comes to the weapon’s playstyle. Grave Robber is the least useful option here although really anything will work for this column. Column 4 however does give us a fairly powerful option in Harmony. Basically, if you get a kill with your other weapon, you can make the grenade launcher have the capacity to get a kill with a single grenade with no clean up required. This will take practice and a bit of skill but is effective. Overall, its a solid roll on the Truthteller, but doesn’t do anything special that makes it overpowered in any way.
