If your Necromancer build in Diablo 4 uses minions, you need to know and use Skeletal Priests to further improve your build. These allies can help keep all your undead minions alive for longer, which can be greatly helpful when going up against endless hordes of enemies. While there are several builds that rely on sacrificing your Skeletal Priests, we feel they serve a better purpose by being on your side.

In this guide, we’ll explore how Skeletal Priests in Diablo 4 operate and how you can use them to maximize your effectiveness in combat.

As a Necromancer, whenever you have max Skeletons, you will receive a Skeletal Priest if you use the Summon Skeleton ability. Keep in mind that you’ll need to have a corpse on the ground to summon a Skeletal Priest. The summoned priest will only stay around for a specific amount of time before leaving your side.

However, during that time, Skeletal Priests provide a highly useful benefit. As long as they stick around, they’ll continue to heal any Skeleton minions you have around and add a bonus to their damage. You can easily spot a Skeletal Priest appear, as they have their arms outstretched when they spawn. Also, they’ll cast a healing spell on your other Skeletons, which appears as a bluish glow.

We suggest summoning a Skeletal Priest as frequently as you can if your Necromancer build focuses on Skeleton minions. Even if they don’t require any immediate healing, the presence of a Skeletal Priest in their midst can significantly increase their damage output. You can further improve on the abilities of your Skeletal Priests through the use of a couple of Legendary Aspects. Let’s take a look at what these are:

  • Blood Getter’s Aspect: The Skeletal Priest will empower you at a certain percentage of effectiveness.
  • Aphotic Aspect: The Skeletal Priest will empower your Skeletons to deal Shadow Damage. They will also have a certain percentage chance of inflicting Stun on the enemy.
