The Pirate’s Den in Dragon Quest 3 Remake is home to nefarious, bloodthirsty pirates and a few hidden treasures.
Dragon Quest 3 Remake features a vibrant world full of characters to meet, quests to complete, and treasures to find. As you go on these treasure hunts, both on land and sea, you will encounter obstacles along the way. The most fearsome of these obstacles, perhaps, are the pirates. These pirates have nestled away in the Pirate’s Den southwest of Portoga, and you can visit this place after a certain point in the game.
In this guide, we shall go over the Pirate’s Den in Dragon Quest 3 Remake, how to find it, and how to complete the area.
How To Reach the Pirate’s Den
The Pirate’s Den may be hidden away, but it isn’t as hidden as the pirates on it may believe. To reach this island, you first have to obtain the ship from the King of Portoga. Once you have your mode of transport ready, simply sail southwest from the island of Portoga, and you will find a suspicious island marked by black flags. Anchor your ship and get on land, and you have arrived.
On the Island
After you hop onto the island, a bystander will warn you to stay away from the building ahead. Ignore his warning and enter anyway. Head straight across the halls and into the Captain’s Quarters. The room adjacent has coins for you to collect, which we recommend doing. Talk to the other inmates of the den to learn more about the lifestyle and rumors of a ghost ship and other happenings. Once you’ve had your fill, head back out of the building.
If you return to the building during the day, you will find it empty. Enter the building and head across the halls towards the Captain’s Quarters. Inside, you will find an Imp monster that you can rescue.
With the pirates not around during the day, you can also ransack the place freely. There is a pair of Leg Warmers in the Captain’s Quarters, a Mini Medal in the barrel room, and a Dummy accessory in the bedrooms on the lower right.
Secret Treasures
Head out of the building, and you will find a statue right next to the gate with a red glow at its base. Move towards the statue and push it to find a secret ladder and passageway leading below. Climb down the ladder to reach a room full of chests. Loot the chests to obtain the Red Orb, Skull Ring, and a Phantom Mask.
