ESO Daily Priorities Guide 2023

Welcome to the ESO Daily Priorities Guide 2023!  The Elder Scrolls Online is full of countless task and activates but doesn’t let you know what’s the most beneficial for experience, gold, leveling and good use of your time.  This guide aims to help the new or beginning player understand what you should do, why you should do it, and how to make the most out of each day in ESO.  Whether you have 5 minutes of 5 hours, here are the things we suggest you focus on and most importantly, why.

Daily Login Rewards

ESO Login Screen Daily Reward
Login Screen Daily Reward

Logging in daily and collecting the free rewards is the simplest “daily” in ESO.  You get great rewards that progressively get better. Sometimes you even get 100,000 gold which is very nice along with experience potions, food, Tel Var (PvP currency) and more.  When you first login, you’ll be prompted for login rewards.  You can also check on your progress via the crown store.  And a notification will appears on your chat that you have a reward waiting to be claimed.

Crown Store Daily Login Screen
Crown Store Daily Login Screen

This screen will tell you the month, reset timer, and progress along with future rewards.  Alliance Points are a PvP rewards/currency. It’s important to note, the character you accept Alliance Points (AP) will advance in the skill line. Thus, if you have a character that needs an alliance war skill line, like the Ultimate Barrier or stamina character needing a heal with Vigor, make sure to accept on that character!  It doesn’t matter which character accepts it’ll still progress the line, but it’s important if you don’t want to do PvP or just want advance at a rapid pace.

Tel Var collected from daily rewards is another PvP currency primarily used for gear, mats and unique collectables.  You can earn this by killing players and monsters inside Imperial City which you access in your Alliance War menu, drop down to Imperial City and que for Champion Points or No Champion Points. Imperial City is now free, you’ll just need to accept this in the Crown Store.  From here, you can access a Tel Var General Merchant inside the safe zone and use Tel Var.  The “best” or most profitable item to buy is Hakeijo, which sell for a lot on guild traders or directly with other players. It’s a rare essence rune used to make prismatic armor glyphs which are highly sought after end game for PvE and PvP.  Now you understand just how valuable login in daily can be!

Mount Upgrades

Tamriel is enormous and every day you can feed your horse once which buffs certain traits!  At level 10 you should a horse added to your collection.  Each town has a Stablemaster, which is the NPC used to increase riding skills speed, stamina, and carry capacity via riding trainer tab which looks like a horseshoe.  Each point can be applied every 20 hours at 250 gold each.  You’ll want to prioritize speed > carry capacity > stamina.  Stamina is used when getting attacked and or engaging sprint on your mount. If you run out, you fall out and can’t use your character for a couple of seconds.  Consider stamina a priority over carry capacity if you’re a PvPer.

Another tip you can do to increase your mount speed is at level 10 complete the Cyrodiil Introduction quest by joining a PvP campaign and learning the basics of Cyrodiil. You’ll receive a mail at level 10 inviting you to do this.  Next, you’ll want to complete the quest and take the Continuous Attack passive.  This will give a Major Gallop at all times, increasing your Mount Speed by 30%.  This applies inside and outside of PvP and is super helpful until you get your horse max speed. Additionally, Daily Reward logins contain horse speed so make sure to login every day!

Daily Writs

Crafting Writs in the Elder Scrolls Online are some of the simplest and most effective ways to help progress your account, earn gold and amass a massive amount of materials!

Once certified for crafting writs, it’s time to take advance of them each and every day on as many characters as possible. To pick up the quests and complete them, go to the writ board in your favorite town location.  I highly recommend doing crafting writs in Vivec City (Vvardenfall) as the boards where you pick up your daily writs are all very close to the crafting stations you will need!

ESO Vvardenfell Viviec City

Once there you will want to look for the blue arrows which indicate the availability of daily quests. For crafting writs you’ll be looking for the Equipment Crafting board is where you can pick up your daily writs for Blacksmithing, Clothing, Woodworking and Jewelry. And at the Consumables Crafting Writs board you will find writs for Alchemy, Provisioning, and Enchanting crafts.

Completing all of the daily crafting writs on one character will net you 4,500 gold. This may not seem like a lot, but if you were to complete all of the daily writs every day on 9 different characters, this would add up to 40k gold per day or over 1 million gold in a month!

Completing writs can also reward you with Inspiration, raw crafting materials, trait stones, improvement materials, survey reports and sometimes Master Writs! Check out this Crafting Writs Guide for a much more in-depth explanation of how to get certified for each type of crafting skill and the best way to complete each type of writ.

Crafting Traits Research

Learning how to craft and figuring out traits in the Elder Scrolls Online can be a complex and intimidating prospect for new players. Is leveling all those crafting lines really worth all the trouble? Though it does require a time investment, crafting can absolutely pay back with dividends in the long run.

The fastest way to level the four lines of Equipment crafting (blacksmithing, clothing, woodworking and jewelry) is by deconstructing all of the unneeded overland armor pieces you collect as you play the game. You can deconstruct gear in towns and at crafting stations throughout the zones – each skill will have its own crafting table for you to work at.

Traits can be added to pieces of armor, weapons, and jewelry in order to create certain desired effects. There are 9 different traits for each of the three types of equipment. As crafting materials, in ESO the traits are typically represented by certain precious stones. In addition, the effectiveness of the applied trait will grow if you improve the quality of the armor.

Each different type of wearable has its own set of traits. These are:

ESO Crafting Traits List

Researching traits is also what unlocks all of the game’s craftable sets. Different sets will require different amounts of unlocked traits in order for you to craft pieces from the set. Discovering each trait through research at the crafting stations is really what requires the biggest time sink. First, you will need to have a piece of equipment with the trait you want to research. Next, visit the corresponding crafting station to that item. Click on the Research Icon from the crafting interface which opens up on the right-hand side. From there the window will show you all of the equipment pieces for the skill line, what traits you have researched, what traits you haven’t, and which items in your inventory have traits you can use for new discovery.

The order you research your traits in is very important! Because the final traits take so very long to unlock, you don’t want to save the most useful for last.

For the complete lists of research order check out my detailed ESO Crafting Trait Research Guide where I’ll provide you with an in-depth look at crafting and a step-by-step guide for the most efficient way to level your crafter!

Dungeon Daily

In The Elder Scrolls Online, dungeons are four-player activities that require teamwork and coordination to complete. Dungeons all drop at least three unique armor sets per dungeon, in addition to a unique monster helm which will only drop at the final boss on a Veteran level dungeon. Most importantly for beginner players (or those leveling new alts), each dungeon has its own unique quest line which will reward you with a single Skill Point when you complete it for the first time.

Each dungeon has a location in a zone and can be entered into by walking your character up to the door and going inside. However, the most common (and easier) way of entering a dungeon is to use the Group and Activity Finder. Within the Activity Finder is where you will find multiple searches for group play – including Dungeons, Battlegrounds, and Tales of Tribute PvP.

ESO Dungeon Finder RDN

Random Daily Normal

Choosing this option will immediately put you into a queue for any normal dungeon available. If you are ESO+, this means any dungeon in the game. If you do not have a subscription active, then you will be limited to the base game dungeons only.

Doing a Random Normal Dungeon the first time will grant you a daily bonus premium reward upon completion that includes Undaunted Exploration Supplies and XP. The extra experience points for completely a single random daily normal are VASTLY increased, and a great value for the time you take to complete the dungeons. Especially if you land in one of the lower-level dungeons, which are typically quicker runs, depending on the level of the group.

Random Daily Normal dungeons are something that players should strive to accomplish everyday – at least on the character(s) they are leveling!

For more information and a break down the basics of dungeons, how to use the dungeon finder, and how to take advantage of the Undaunted Pledges check out our robust ESO Daily Dungeon Guide!

Battleground Daily

The Battlegrounds are short matches (max 15 min) between three teams, four players each, and multiple objectives that players need to follow to win the match. This PvP mode has a leaderboard with the best players and also can be very profitable. By playing Battlegrounds matches you collect many gear sets, achievements, furniture, outfit page styles and much more.

When you hit level 10 and receive an invitation to Cyrodiil mail, you can start the first battleground quest. The starter quest “For Glory” introduces you to Battlegrounds simply by participating in any battleground.

ESO For glory
ESO For Glory Quest

Daily random battleground match, similar to the daily normal dungeon, can once a day reward you with a large amount of experience, alliance points (AP), transmute stones, style pages, and unique set pieces. It’s an extremely valuable activity. Especially if you are still levelling your character whether you are below level 50 or would like to earn more Champion Points (CP).

You can join battleground matches when you hit level 10. The game offers battlegrounds under level 50 and over level 50. This setting is automatically applied, based on your level. You can queue solo or with a 2-4 player group. However, if you are solo, always pick in the top expandable window the “Solo random Battleground” option. All battlegrounds have Champion Points disabled, so you will only be able to rely on your skill, gear, abilities and passives.

For lots of more valuable in-depth information on Battlegrounds and how they work, check out my ESO Battlegrounds Guide for Beginners!

Pledges

The Undaunted is a guild in ESO and like the Mages and Fighters Guilds, joining them will unlock a unique skill line. To join the Undaunted, you will need to find the recruiter within your faction’s starting city (Daggerfall in Glenumbra, Davon’s Watch in Stonefalls, or Vulkhel Guard in Auridon). There will be an initiate quest to complete, and then you will be part of the guild.

Once your character is at level 45, you will receive an invitation from the guild in your inbox. The invitation will start you on a quest which will unlock Undaunted Pledges. Pledges are daily quests which task you with defeating certain bosses within a unique dungeon. There are three new pledges available each day, two of them featuring dungeons in the base game and one featuring dungeons found in the DLC game packs. To pick up a pledge, find the Undaunted Enclave within your faction’s capital city and speak to one of the three pledge givers.

ESO Pledge Quest Givers

Completing Undaunted quests and turning them into the quest giver will reward you with a key. You can receive one key for doing the dungeon(s) on normal, or two keys from completing the dungeon(s) on veteran level in hard mode.

The Elder Scrolls Online Endeavors system is a great way to passively or actively acquire the means to purchase crown gem and crown crate items without having to spend real money. While this process can take a long time if you want to be able to purchase the most highly valued items, the benefit of the system is that all it requires is to simply play the game.

Seals of Endeavor is the name of the special in-game currency by which players may purchase crown crate items. Players now have an opportunity to earn them by using a currency which players can collect in game.

Players earn Seals of Endeavors by completing daily and weekly Endeavor Quests. These quests are not like other dailies which need to be actively picked up by the player character and are added to the character’s quest journal. Rather, Endeavor Quests are always automatically active on your account. They can even be earned ‘passively’ if you happen to complete one of the quests in the course of your regular gameplay. You do not even have to check what the current Endeavors quests were, the game will still automatically reward you.

Daily Job Brokers

There are numerous daily job brokers in the Elder Scrolls Online, sprinkled throughout the world zones. Most are specifically found in the DLC and Chapter zones, and often times their quests are tied to large, regular in-game events which will reward players with events tickets, certain style motifs, even specific event items and more.

ESO High Isle Dailies Map

In the most recent zone of Gonfalon Bay in High Isle, Parisse Plouff gives out the Bounty quests, Wayllod gives out the Delve quests, and Druid Peeska gives out the Volcanic Vents quests. You may pick up one quest a day from each of quest giver per character you play. If you wish to do more than one quest a day, you can get around the initial limit by grouping with someone who has a different daily quest than the one you have already done. If they share that quest with you, you can then complete the quest and turn it back in again for the same reward. Note that this trick ONLY applies to the Bounty quests and the Delve quests – you cannot share the Volcanic Vents quests with other players.

For a much more robust guide with multiple zone maps and the location of many daily quest givers, check out my Daily Job Brokers Guide!

Daily Guild Quests

With the addition of Companions in the Blackwood chapter, there is now an additional benefit to running the often-neglected guild daily quests. My complete Daily Guild Quests Guide will give you all information you need on how to unlock the dailies, where to find the quest givers, and how to efficiently use them to level your new companion!

Once you are a member of the Fighters, Mages and Undaunted guilds, you will need to travel to your alliance’s capital city in order to find the quest giver for the dailies. These cities would be Wayrest in Stormhaven, Mournhold in Deshaan, and Elden Root in Grahtwood.

ESO Fighters Guild maps

Look for the blue arrows to indicate the quest giver and interact with them to accept a daily quest. Each guild has specific requirements for their quests. Complete the objectives and return to the quest giver to get your reward!

Along with a coffer of items your character will also receive 10 XP on the specific guild’s skill line. This isn’t much and if you’re just trying to level up a character’s Fighters Guild skill line – a much more efficient way of doing that would be to farm dolmens or run the Skyreach Catacombs repeatedly. So why do the quest at all?? Because:

Companions are the real reason for doing the Guild dailies! Companions can unlock a simplified version of the Guild skill line, and completing them is the ONLY way to level the Guild skill line on companions. Remember to have your companion out and active before turning in the quest or they will not receive the XP reward!
