This guide will cover all the combat lives along with its various mechanics in Fantasy Life i The Girl Who Steals Time.

Combat is one of the core mechanics of Fantasy Life i The Girl Who Steals Time. Accordingly, of the 14 lives present for you to choose between, four are dedicated Combat Lives. Each of the Combat Lives has a different playstyle and approach to combat. Here is everything you need to know about combat in Fantasy Life i The Girl Who Steals Time.
Combat Basics in Fantasy Life i The Girl Who Steals Time

Combat in Fantasy Life i is not too difficult to get a hang of. The basic actions you can take in combat are attacks, heavy attacks, unique actions, dodging, and sheathing your weapon.
Attacks and heavy attacks are self explanatory. Basic attacks are quick and weaker, while heavy attacks are strong but use some SP. Unique actions, meanwhile, are special abilities that are unique to each Combat Life.
Dodging allows you to avoid your enemy’s attacks. However, you shouldn’t just want to only press dodge to stay away from enemies. If you time your dodge correctly, you can perform a Perfect Dodge. This allows you to land a counterattack on the enemy. Finally, sheathing your weapon allows you to disengage from combat, letting you run away if you want to.
You can also lock onto enemies to make sure your attacks go where you want them to. Apart from this, one last tip is to register your items in the quick-use bag. This will let you use potions and other items on the fly instead of looking through your bag.
