Caldarus is a highly anticipated character who can now be found in the second major update for Fields of Mistria. Read more to find out.
The second major update for Fields of Mistria just launched on March 12, 2025. This major update brought many noticeable changes, additions, and bug fixes. However, one standout amongst all of this was the addition of Caldarus.
The ancient dragon (and his human form) can now be interacted with, thanks to Field of Mistria’s second update. Here is how players can find and interact with Caldarus, the ancient dragon in Fields of Mistria.
How To Unlock Caldarus in Fields of Mistria
Meeting Caldarus requires you to start and finish a specific quest. This is the Breaking the Fire Seal quest, which is unlocked by interacting with the tablet on the 60th floor of the mines.
Firstly, this quest requires you to talk to Juniper to gain her assistance. Next, give Balor the following materials to obtain a sealing scroll:
- 10 sapphires
- 10 rubies
- 10 emeralds
- 10 iron ingots
Use the scroll alongside a rockroot, emerald, and faceted rock gem on the fire shrine. This will start a brief cutscene. Here, you will finally lay your eyes upon Caldarus and his human form. Furthermore, he will give you the Dragon’s Breath spell. It is necessary to gain access to the Deep Woods area in Fields of Mistria.
Caladrus will leave and tell you to meet him at the Deep Woods, which is your next objective.

Use your newfound ability to remove the vines blocking your path to the Deep Woods. From here, head right and keep following the path while removing any obstacles in your way.
Eventually, you will stumble upon Caldarus’ temple, where you can find him in his human form. Finally, you can head inside and talk to him. Additionally, finishing this quest will let you invite him to the Shooting Star Festival as well.
