If you’re trying to progress in Fisch and unlock tools like the Magma Rod or finish the Brick Rod quest, you’ll need to catch a Pufferfish. This oddly adorable, yellow, spiky creature isn’t just another fish to sell off for cash. It’s essential for some of the game’s most useful upgrades and quest completions.

While it’s part of the Ocean bestiary, it doesn’t exactly behave like one. Instead of open seas, you’ll find it lurking around coral reefs in Roslit Bay. With the right season, location, and bait, catching one isn’t difficult.

Catch Pufferfish in Fisch Roblox

To catch a Pufferfish in Fisch, start by heading to the waters around Roslit Bay. Even though it’s listed under the Ocean bestiary, you won’t find it in the open sea. Instead, focus on the coral reef area along the coast. The most reliable spot is near coordinates X -1433, Y 137, Z 440. Use your Fish Radar to locate the abundance zone if you want to avoid wasting time on random casts.

The Pufferfish isn’t too heavy, coming in at around 1kg, so any basic fishing rod will work. What really matters is the bait. Always use Seaweed when aiming for this fish. As for timing, Pufferfish spawn in every weather and at any time of day, but they do prefer Summer. That gives you a bit of flexibility, but Summer fishing will always yield better results.

Once you hook one, don’t throw it away or sell it immediately. You can trade one Pufferfish to the Orc at the base of Roslit Volcano for the Magma Rod, which is essential for lava fishing. If you’re on the Brick Rod quest, you’ll need to give a Pufferfish to Minish at Harvester’s Spike during a foggy Summer night to complete the final step.

If you plan to pursue both upgrades, catch and store at least two. Having a spare saves you from returning to the reef later. Stick to the right season, use Seaweed bait, and you’ll have a Pufferfish in no time.
