Catching fish in Fisch isn’t always about casting a line and getting lucky. Some catches demand more work, and the Shimmering Silverside is one of them. This isn’t just another fish you bump into while exploring Mariana’s Veil.

To even get a shot at it, you’ll need to unlock a hidden zone, take on a boss, and time your bait just right. The Silverside is a Mythical rarity catch, which means it fights back hard and appears only under specific conditions.

To catch the Shimmering Silverside in Fisch, you first need access to the Calm Zone. This fishing spot isn’t available by default, so you’ll have to unlock it. Start by traveling to Mariana’s Veil and reach the Abyssal Zenith. There, craft the Dark upgrade for your submarine. Once that’s done, return to Roslit Bay and begin your descent. Pass the Volcanic Vents, skip the Challenger’s Deep route, and continue heading down until you reach the Calm Zone.

To open the entrance to this area, make sure you have these three specific fish in your inventory: Frozen Leviathan, Magma Leviathan, and Crowned Anglerfish. After placing them, complete a short obby and defeat the boss that follows. This unlocks the Calm Zone’s fishing section, where the Shimmering Silverside becomes available.

Now, focus on the conditions. The Shimmering Silverside only appears at night, in clear weather, and during spring. Use Truffle Worm as bait. Once it bites, you’ll get hit with a -20% progress speed debuff, so expect a tougher fight than usual. Despite its low weight, the fish’s Mythical rarity and debuff make it harder to reel in.

To improve your chances, use a rod with strong lure speed, resilience, and luck. Two good choices are:

  • Tempest Rod: Lure Speed 90%, Luck 120%, Resilience 40%, Max Weight 80000 Kg
  • Rod of the Forgotten Fang: Lure Speed 78%, Luck 145%, Resilience 25%, Max Weight Infinite

Pick the one that suits your style. The Rod of the Forgotten Fang offers more luck, which helps with Mythical catches, while the Tempest Rod is more balanced. Once everything is in place, cast your line and stay alert. If you follow these steps exactly, you’ll be adding the Shimmering Silverside to your collection in no time.
