Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is littered with many tough boss battles. Here are the five hardest bosses you will encounter in the game.

Clair Obscur Expedition has garnered rave reviews and plaudits from gamers and critics alike for its innovative story and versatile gameplay. Each character you select has their own unique playstyle that will help you overcome the threat enemies pose. However, no matter how efficiently you utilize your Pictos and Luminos or how optimally you have upgraded your favorite weapons, some bosses still prove a grave threat to your existence.
Bosses that you come upon through the main story, like Visages and Sirene, are powerful and dangerous. However, if you choose to wander into dangerous territories, some of the bosses you stumble upon in Act 3 of the game are on a completely different level. So here are the five hardest bosses you could encounter in the game.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33’s Five Toughest Boss Battles
5) Clea

Clea is one of the toughest to find boss battles in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. To get a chance to square off against her, you will have to complete the side quest at Flying Manor and open the Manor door. Once you encounter her and the battle kicks off, you have to consistently dish out Void damage to keep her at bay.
Keep in mind that Clea can summon assistance from several different Nevron enemies. Their attacks could be unpredictable and bizarre. So, ensure that you don’t take any damage because Clea can restore her health if she deals damage to you. Defeating Clea unlocks Clea’s Life Pictos, which can help in restoring your health.
4) Golgra

Fighting Golgra emerges as a unique proposition. You will have to fight her a minimum of four times if you are determined to follow Monoco’s character quest till the end. You will encounter the boss in the early game section. It’s not advisable to challenge her at this stage of the game, as she can one-shot you. Unless you have godly parry and dodge skills, you should prepare accordingly and specifically for the duel against the Gestral Chief.
Her enormous reserves of HP and kick combos can devastate you even if you survive the initial attack. So prepare accordingly to beat her.
3) Chromatic Chapelier

Shoot all the glowing green crows in The Crows optional area to initiate a boss fight with the Chromatic Chapelier. The Chromatic Chapelier can launch Masks that can orbit itself for a few turns. It can launch a Mask at a party member, which deals damage and could silence them upon landing.
This boss can also dodge most of your attacks. So aim and fire at the Masks to destroy them. Be wary that their movement is rather fast, so observe their path and position your counterattack accordingly to defeat The Chromatic Chapelier seamlessly.
2) Painted Love

If you have managed to complete all 33 trials in the Endless Tower, then your toughest final test awaits you. Pained Love combines the main Paintress boss and The Curator as one entity. Typically, when faced with such an option, players focus on beating one boss and then dealing with the other. However, this strategy doesn’t work against Painted Love.
This boss shares one health bar, and you will have to fend off the vast variety of attacks of both the Curator and the Paintress. So level up and prepare optimally to ward off sword attacks, void crosses, black holes, and the enemy’s flying attacks.
1) Simon

Undoubtedly, the toughest boss in Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is Simon, a lost member of Expedition Zero trapped in the Abyss. This hidden boss can obliterate even a fully maxed-out party with sheer power and volume. You need to land every parry during his combos to take him down.
An unblocked hit may mean damage incurred in the 7000-8000 range. He has a move in his arsenal that can put any party member’s health to 1. Moreover, with this attack, he can initiate his next devastating move. Simon can remove a fainted party member from the battle. This means they can’t be revived.
If you manage to avoid Simon’s onslaught, don’t celebrate too early, as he has a second phase you have to deal with. Moreover, if you die in the second phase, you need to restart the entire battle. If you have managed to beat Simon, you are one of the few who have mastered Clair Obscur Expedition 33.
