Forza Horizon 5 is finally making its PlayStation debut, with the game scheduled to release later next month. While the series has been one of the flagship Xbox exclusives since its inception back in 2012, it’s finally breaking the shackles and making its way to PlayStation. Forza Horizon 5 is essentially the pinnacle of what the series has to offer, complete with what is easily the biggest map in any Forza game to date, as well as a wealth of content.
Furthermore, the PS5 version comes with all the post-launch updates and additions that have been added to the base game since its original release back in 2021. There are also two DLC expansions available for the game.
With the game’s official release date announced, the game is also available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store. Here’s everything you need to know about Forza Horizon 5 PS5’s pre-order, editions, and more.

Forza Horizon 5 is scheduled to be released on April 29, 2025. However, if you pre-order the Premium Edition, you can start playing on April 25, 2025. It should be noted that to play the game on your PS5, you will need an active Microsoft Account. You will have to log into the Microsoft Account when you first boot up the game. However, it’s a one-time linking process.
Furthermore, the PS5 version works very much like the Steam version of Forza Horizon 5, meaning you won’t be able to transfer your in-game progress from Xbox or Game Pass over to PS5. However, the game does support crossplay across all platforms and also has a dedicated offline mode as well.
As for the game’s release platforms, unlike on Xbox, where Forza Horizon 5 was released as a cross-gen title, the PlayStation version is exclusively current-gen. This means that Forza Horizon 5 is only coming to PS5, and not PS4.
Forza Horizon 5 PS5 Editions and Prices
Similarly to the Xbox and Steam versions of the game, Forza Horizon 5 is offered in three different editions on PS5 – Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Editions. The Standard Edition is priced at $60 and comes with only the base game as well as the pre-order bonus. The Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, costs $80 and comes with the Car Pass on top of the Standard Edition content.
The Premium Edition, priced at $100, comes with the Welcome Pack, VIP membership, Car Pass, and Expansions, as well as 4-day early access to the base game.
