Players may encounter an error that says, “The Rockstar Games account doesn’t own GTA 5 Enhanced,” even though they do own the game via Epic Games. This can be frustrating for most players. This is because GTA 5 Enhanced is the biggest update in a long while. It makes sense that a lot of players are eager to jump into the game and try out the new content.

The new expansion promises a ton of exciting new content. This includes improved graphics, better performance, and fresh gameplay experiences that players can explore. However, with a hefty update file size of approximately 92GB, the storage demand alone can be daunting. Understandably, frustration mounts when players encounter errors that prevent them from accessing the game after such a massive download.

Players on other platforms like Steam and the official Rockstar Games Launcher are already enjoying the new content. Meanwhile, Epic Games users have been left in limbo, facing the “This Account Doesn’t Own Enhanced” error. Until a fix is implemented, those who purchased the game through Epic may have to wait before they can join in on the action.

This error reportedly only appears for players who own GTA 5 Legacy via the Epic Games Store. If you try to launch the Enhanced version, you receive the “The Rockstar Games account doesn’t own GTA 5 Enhanced” pop-up. The Rockstar Games Launcher closes after you close the pop-up window.

According to reports from Reddit users, neither Rockstar nor Epic Games have yet to present any possible fixes for this problem. Some users explained how they only received “the same bot auto-answer” when they tried to contact Rockstar’s customer support.

Fixes for GTA 5 “This Account Doesn’t Own Enhanced” Error on Epic Games

At the time of writing this article, there is no possible fix for the “The Rockstar Games account doesn’t own GTA 5 Enhanced” error. Players are advised to simply wait for Rockstar Games or Epic Games to release a patch update that will hopefully fix the issue. Rockstar Games Support page for GTA 5 currently has a red banner stating they are aware of the Epic Games issue are working on resolving the same.

In the meantime, Epic Games players will have to settle for playing the GTA 5 Legacy edition to enjoy a portion of the expansion, like the new McKenzie Field Hangar. This new property functions as aircraft storage and unlocks missions relating to the Oscar Guzman Flies Again content.
