There are plenty of things players want to see when GTA 6 Online drops. There is a lot of hype surrounding Rockstar Games’ upcoming game. Despite months of silence from the developers, the community is abuzz with discussions about the features they want and do not want to see in the upcoming title.

This excitement is hardly surprising, given the monumental success of GTA 5 Online. The game was so successful that it is still one of the most played games a decade later. You could say that the community is expecting GTA 6 Online to be the successor that delivers even more content and improvements.

In this article, let’s dive into the things players would love to see in GTA 6 Online.

1. Better Economy Balance

One of the main issues players face in the game is the economic inflation in GTA 5 Online. Some players believe it’s ruining the game for them. It makes sense, considering how newly added cars now cost millions of in-game cash compared to the older ones that cost less. Balancing the economy would also make players think twice about what they purchase in the game.

If GTA 6 Online does arrive, it’s the perfect time for Rockstar Games to implement new mechanics that would prevent inflation in the game. It is a hard mechanic to pull off, but we can hope the developers will find a way somehow. Maybe they can start by excluding Shark Cards in the upcoming game.

2. No More Overpowered Vehicles or Weapons

The player base has a love-and-hate relationship with the Oppressor MK II in GTA Online. On one side, it’s very convenient how you can just hover and travel seamlessly across Los Santos. However, some players also hate it because it’s just too convenient and is used by griefers to annoy other players. The aesthetics of the Oppressor MK II also do not fit the setting of GTA 5, which breaks immersion for some players.

Maybe we can have futuristic content in GTA 6 Online. However, just don’t make it too convenient to the point that it overshadows everything else in the game.

3. More Roleplaying Options

Taking inspiration from one of the alleged Rockstar Games leaks back in December 2024, maybe players can have more roleplay options. I’m not talking about playing as a cop and catching criminals. Maybe add a mechanic where we specialize in one or two skills. We could be good at hacking, which can be handy in heists. Or, we could play as a smooth-talking merchant who always gets to pay less and earn more in their business ventures.

These little things could enhance the roleplay aspect of the game and add more purpose to each player’s character. I loved the MMORPG days where we would find a healer to recruit before starting a raid. Maybe we could have something like that in GTA Online but for a heist.

4. Improved Cop AI

For new players, dealing with cops in GTA 5 Online can be challenging. It makes sense because they have limited resources, which might leave them scrambling to escape or survive in pursuit. However, for veterans with access to powerful weapons and vehicles, these encounters quickly lose their edge. Instead of feeling like a high-stakes game of cat and mouse, they become more of a mild annoyance—like how you have to deal with dragons spawning in Skyrim when you’re already at max level. Needless to say, the AI of law enforcers needs an overhaul.

For instance, advanced players could face more coordinated police tactics, such as AI officers using roadblocks, aerial support, or predictive maneuvers to anticipate the player’s actions. Meanwhile, newer players might encounter less aggressive and more forgiving AI, allowing them to learn the ropes without feeling completely outmatched. Law enforcers in a GTA game should feel intimidating, not just annoying to deal with.

5. Small Fun Social Interactions

One thing GTA 6 Online needs is perhaps a bit of roleplaying mechanics that allow you to do mundane tasks. An example would be going to a nightclub and hanging out with the boys. Maybe go watch a live street race and bet on which player participating in the race would win.

Don’t get me wrong, heists and other multiplayer missions are fun. However, a little bit of social interaction for the players who want to immerse themselves through roleplaying can be a nice little add-on to the game. These smaller social moments could help make the game world feel more alive and relatable.
