The GTA Online Agents of Sabotage update includes a new mission titled The Black Box File. This job mission is added to the new DLC and can be unlocked after purchasing a property in the game. It works like a heist where players need to set up missions in order to make progress.
The premise of this mission is to bring down an IAA plane to recover a package that contains highly confidential content. Completing this quest would yield around $150k. However, in order to do this, you’ll need to do a bit of hacking to take down an aircraft and grab the package.

How To Complete the Agents of Sabotage the Black Box File Mission in GTA Online
In order to start the Agents of Sabotage The Black Box File job, players must first purchase the Darnell Bros Garment Factory property for $2,350,000. After purchasing it, visit the factory to start the quest. You can check your in-game phone to learn more details about the missions through the Darnell Inc. app.
You can select one of the four missions in there. If you chose The Black Box File, you will need to make the following preparations to progress through the story and unlock the finale:
- Hacking Device
- Sonar Equipment
- Weaponized Aircraft
Once you acquire all three pieces of equipment, you can start your heist and steal the Black Box.

Setup a Hacking Device
For this task, players will need to steal a Hacking Device and place it on the target plane. The area where you need to start looking will be marked on the map. However, you need to be very careful as this area will be guarded. Once you clear the area, simply walk around and search for the hacking device.
After collecting the device, head to LSIA, which is located a short distance away from you. Your next task is to plant it on a control tower. The location will be marked on your map. There will be multiple CCTV cameras in the area. Avoid being seen by these cameras, or you will get a wanted level. You can shoot them if you can.
Climb the ladder up to the top of the control tower. Once there, you can plant the hacking device on an electrical box and climb down. Head back to the Garment Factory for your next task.
Steal Sonar Equipment
The next task in the GTA Online Agents of Sabotage The Black Box File mission is to acquire sonar equipment through not-so-legal means. This will be used when the plane crashes underwater.
You can find the equipment on a tugboat near the Los Santos docks. The game will mark the area, making it easy to locate. As usual, this place will have enemies. Make sure you are prepared for a gunfight.
Once the coast is clear, you can find the sonar equipment inside a large box. Deliver the equipment back to the Darnell Bros Garment Factory to start your next task.
Steal Weaponized Aircraft
For the final preparation before the finale, your task is to steal a weaponized aircraft called a Mammoth Tula. Stock up on some ammo and head to the marked location in the Merryweather barge. You don’t have to swim your way there. You can use a boat to get to the target location.
There will be enemies in this area, so blow some lead on them and clear the area. Once you take out all the enemies, head to the weaponized aircraft and power it up. There will be helicopters that will try to attack you after this. Take them down, ride your way to the marked location, and park the aircraft there.
Find the plane
The part you’ve been preparing for has finally come. The first part of the GTA Online Agents of Sabotage The Black Box File finale will task you with hacking the air traffic control tower and finding the target plane. Stock up on ammo and other equipment before proceeding. Bring some explosives like a sticky bomb just in case you need to blow up a door.
Head to the location and press the button to start. Next, head back to the Mammoth Tula and ride it to the target’s location.
Hack the plane and steal the Black Box
Once you close the gap on the target plane, use the SecuroServ app on your in-game phone. Try and stick close to the plane to raise the percentage on the screen. Once it reaches 100%, the plane will be fully hacked and you can start destroying it. Take the plane down by shooting one of its four engines.
Once the plane crashes, lower your aircraft and jump down into the water. Next, dive down and use your sonar equipment to locate the Black Box. Once you find it, swim back up and find a nearby dinghy.
Lose the Wanted Level and Deliver Package to the Buyer
Once you have the package, all you need to do now is try and lose the cops chasing you. Use the machine gun turret to shoot enemies that are coming closer. The driver will do the driving for you. Eventually, you’ll reach the buyer’s location.
Once the transaction is complete, you will get your reward and a couple of bonuses if you complete side tasks.
How To Get More Rewards in Agents of Sabotage the Black Box File Job
Completing the following tasks will add more prize money to your overall reward:
- Destroy all four engines of the target plane.
- Recover all contents from the plane underwater.
- Kill five enemies during the dinghy escape.
