Buying a Hangar can either be the best or the worst decision you make in GTA Online. It all comes down to how well you can manage a particular business in the game. If you have prior experience with running businesses in GTA Online, you may grasp this concept easily. And even if you are new to all this, we will help you.

There is no significant passive money generation with Hangars. So, it is only worth it if you are someone who likes to handle things actively. Moreover, taking care of things along with a bunch of friends will generate more profit.

Note that there may be things that you already know if you are a veteran player. These tips are mainly to help those who haven’t tried out this business yet or want to figure out the best way to go about it, whether solo or with friends.

First and foremost, you would want to buy a place you can call a Hangar. There are a total of 5 Hangars available in GTA Online. Two are located all the way to the south, while three are in the northwest region of the map. Open your in-game phone and head to Maze Bank Foreclosures on the internet to buy a Hangar. Now, take note of the following tips:

  • Buy one of the three hangars at Fort Zancudo. This is in the northwest region of the map. A hangar’s base price can be somewhere between $1 million to $3 million. Buying one at Fort Zancudo will give you a much easier tactical advantage over the military base to steal their aircraft and also put you close to several sourcing missions for the Hangar business.
  • There are two customizations that I want you to pay attention to: Living Quarters and Workshop. The Living Quarters is essentially your personal quarter, which acts as your spawn point in the game if you don’t have one already. The Workshop helps you customize your fleet and gives you access to a weapons workshop to enhance weapons. The rest of the customizations are up to you.
  • Unlike the Bunker business in GTA Online, there’s no way to “buy supplies” for your Hangar. Your helping hand at the Hangar, Rooster McCraw, can source the supplies for you for $25,000. He usually brings one crate of goods, which is not worth it. So, I suggest that you steal the supplies instead.
  • There are 8 source materials which are divided into three groups. Group 1 contains Tobacco & Alcohol and Counterfeit Goods. Group 2 has Animal Materials, Jewelry & Gemstones, and Arts & Antiques. Group 3 has Narcotics, Chemicals, and Medical Supplies. The sale value for these goods progressively increases from Groups 1 to 3.

  • When you access the sourcing missions on your laptop, try going for the Land Missions rather than Air Missions. This is because the latter are longer, more difficult, and more tedious.
  • Land missions are of two types. You either have to pick up crates from a location and bring them back or drive a trailer to a location. If you play solo, only one crate will spawn, whereas more players will get more crates. As for the trailer mission, blow it up! That will drop the trailer’s contents on the ground, allowing you to pick it all up and deliver them yourself rather than driving a slow truck.
  • If you sell your products in a public lobby, it is riskier, but you get a 2% added bonus for each player in the server. So, aiming for Group 3 goods in a public lobby will get you a lot of money.
  • There is a cooldown time for each material. Group 1 materials have the lowest cooldown of 1 minute between sourcing, while it increases when you reach Group 3. So, if you play solo, try to collect all the crates you can instead of waiting around for a cooldown for a specific material.
  • Lastly, when you sell, select Land only because, unlike Bunker missions, you only have one transport to sell all your goods! This makes it ideal for solo players as well.

We think the Hangar business is well worth your time and effort. However, it requires a lot of grind, so it may not be for everyone. But if you are someone who likes to pick up side missions and wreak havoc, you may find your groove.
