Political commentator HasanAbi called out Elon Musk for engaging in drama over a video game with Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt.
Twitch streamer and political commentator Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker reacted to the Zack “Hoyt” Hoyt and Elon Musk controversy on stream. He said that Musk should “stop being online” fighting “battles” over a video game.
Elon Musk recently claimed that he is among the top 15 players in Path of Exile. However, when the world’s richest man streamed the game on January 7, 2024, several content creators alleged that someone else boosted Musk’s account.
Asmongold was one of the content creators who reacted to Musk’s gameplay and criticized him. The streamer’s account abruptly lost its verified status on Twitter, and Musk leaked private messages calling him out.
HasanAbi Calls Out Elon Musk Amidst Twitter Drama
HasanAbi reacted to the Elon Musk controversy on stream and tweeted about the situation on January 17, 2025. He said:
“Oh my god, he is the most thin-skinned man alive. Just let it go man, stop being online. You have more money than anyone else and you’re fighting internet battles because nerds who otherwise love you found out you were boosting your account in a video game.”
After Hasan responded, Elon Musk doubled down and posted another tweet calling out Asmongold. Elon said:
“I’m on hundreds of streams on YouTube/Twitch playing live with the world’s best players. No other way to say this, but, while Asmon IS good at caustic commentary and making fun of people, he is NOT good at video games.”
HasanAbi retweeted Elon’s response and said:
“Lmao, what is happening man? You are arguing with a dude who rarely leaves his house about gaming cred after being exposed as a fraud!”
During his stream on January 16, 2025, Hasan also criticized Twitter for removing the verified status from profiles that spoke negatively about Elon Musk.
Asmongold Responds To Elon Musk’s Criticism
HasanAbi is not the only content creator who criticized Elon Musk. Other popular gaming content creators like Act Man, Octavian “Kripparian” Morosan, and Quinton “Quin69TV” Crawford called him out.
Asmongold reacted to the tweets about him and said in a video:
“Elon thinks that my editors tell me what to do. And he was using it as a way to make it seem like that’s not what I really think because I’m being told by my editors to do stuff. Like, that was his like, they’re my boss or they’re like my overlords or something right and, uh, that that’s really what it (is).”
After the drama escalated, Elon Musk unfollowed Asmongold on Twitter. He also allegedly played a part in removing Asmon’s Twitter verified status before restoring it hours later. The billionaire is yet to respond to Asmongold’s video on the situation.
