Twitch streamer and political commentator Hasan “HasanAbi” Piker called out One True King co-founder Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt for his comments on the Holocaust. On January 21, 2025, Asmongold said that the Holocaust “probably” happened, which led to an online controversy.

Many internet users thought that Asmongold was promoting “Holocaust denial.” The term Holocaust denial refers to any act that negates the scope of the atrocities committed against the Jewish people in Hitler’s Germany.

Asmongold had clarified on stream that he believes the Holocaust happened. However, HasanAbi called him out for the way Asmon presented his viewpoint. Hasan claimed Asmon using the phrase “99% certain” implied that the Twitch streamer meant there is a 1% chance the Holocaust didn’t happen.

Why Did HasanAbi Call Out Asmongold?

Twitch streamer Asmongold was discussing the Holocaust on his stream. He told his viewers:

“I am not one of these Holocaust deniers. The Holocaust probably happened. Probably 99% certainty it happened. And the number of people that were killed is not a big deal to me. If someone told me the number of people who got killed is lower, I would still say N*zi Germany was terrible. It’s just a silly thing to say. It’s a silly thing to think about. I don’t know why people get so hyper-fixated on it.”

Many internet users took offense to Asmon not taking a definitive stance on the matter and using the word “probably.” HasanAbi said that Asmon is the “biggest political commentator” on Twitch and was “desperate to be edgy.”

Despite the criticism, Hasan believes that Asmon is not a Holocaust denier. However, many internet users clipped Asmon’s commentary out of context, which fueled the controversy online.

Hasan Thinks Asmongold Is “Desperate To Be Edgy”

During a livestream on January 21, 2025, HasanAbi was reacting to moments from the United States Presidential inauguration ceremony. One of his chatters sent him a Twitter link showing Asmongold’s comments. He saw the clip and reacted by saying:

“Dude, why is he saying there’s a 1% chance the Holocaust did not happen? Like, are you that desperate to be edgy? Come on Asmon. What’s wrong with your bro? Do I think Asmon thinks the Holocaust didn’t happen? No. He knows the Holocaust happened. 100%. He knows the Holocaust happened.”

He felt that Asmongold has considerable influence on Twitch and shouldn’t be saying these things. Hasan added:

“Why do we care what Asmon says? Because he is the largest political content creator on this platform whether you like it or not. He quite literally is, as it stands, the largest political content creator and the largest content creator on the platform. With 53,000 concurrent viewers, Asmongold, currently is, the largest political content creator on the platform, okay?”

Asmon told his audience he did not care about the potentially controversial statements. He said he lost most of his sponsors and expressed his frustrations with mainstream and alternative media.
