In Hell Let Loose, a tank can significantly influence the outcome of battles. They are not only sturdy moving behemoths, but they can also fill other roles like reconnaissance or bringing some massive firepower to destroy other infantries.

In order to get a tank in Hell Let Loose you need to first join an Armor Unit. This unit has a different purpose compared to the like of infantry squads. However, you don’t simply get a tank and expect to win the battle. It still requires team coordination, resource management, and strategic planning to maximize the potential of these vehicles.

Here is a guide on how you can get a tank in Hell Let Loose.

Join an Armor Unit

Spawning and driving a tank is a special perk for the Armor Unit. Each unit can have up to four members: one Tank Commander and three crewmen. You can find this just below the Infantry unit.

  • Tank Commander – In charge of deploying armored vehicles.
  • Crewman – The soldiers who will drive the tanks and use their weaponry.

Select the Tank Commander Role

To spawn a tank in Hell Let Loose, you need to be the Tank Commander of the unit. This role has the authority to request tank deployment. However, you can only spawn this armored vehicle in various headquarters or controlled zones.

Once you are the Tank Commander, follow these steps to spawn an armored vehicle:

  • Access the Deployment Menu in the in-game map.
  • Choose to deploy either a light, medium, or heavy tank.
  • Choose the deployment location on the map.
  • Confirm the deployment.

Once the process is complete, your unit will be able to drive the tank and use it to gain strategic advantage. Make sure you deploy the tanks in advantageous positions to avoid losing them to enemy ambushes or anti-tank weapons immediately.

Positioning near supply routes, defensible terrain, or areas with infantry support can maximize your tank’s effectiveness and longevity. Additionally, coordinating with your team ensures that your tank is used strategically rather than wasted in isolated engagements.

Different Tank Classes in Hell Let Loose

In Hell Let Loose, tanks are divided into light, medium, and heavy classes. Each of these classes serves a different purpose on the battlefield. Here’s how they function:

Light Tanks

Armored vehicles like the Stuart and Panzer II are classified as Light Tanks in Hell Let Loose. While they lack the heavy armor of their larger counterparts, their lighter build grants them superior speed and agility. This makes them ideal for reconnaissance, scouting enemy positions, and quickly responding to threats or shifting frontlines.

However, their lighter armor comes at a cost. They are highly vulnerable to anti-tank guns, heavier tanks, and even infantry weapons like bazookas and satchel charges. These weaponry can easily disable or destroy them. To maximize their effectiveness, light tanks should rely on mobility, flanking tactics, and support from friendly forces.

Medium Tanks

Medium Tanks like the Panzer IV and T-34 are the jack-of-all-trades with a good mix of mobility, firepower, and armor. They are perfect when you want a vehicle that fills multiple roles, like fighting other enemy tanks or supporting ally infantry. Whether pushing objectives or holding key positions, medium tanks adapt well to various combat scenarios.

The downside to this armored vehicle is that they can be completely outgunned by heavy tanks in direct fights. They are also a bit slower than light tanks, making them easy targets for flanking. This means you will need to be more strategic in your approach when encountering heavier-armored vehicles.

Heavy Tanks

The superior armored vehicle in terms of durability and firepower. Heavy Tanks like the Sherman Firefly and Panther are perfect for frontline assaults and breaking enemy fortifications. This vehicle can soak up multiple shots of anti-tank weapons that are otherwise lethal to light or medium tanks.

The biggest downside to a Heavy Tank is their slow movement and are expensive to have on the battlefield. They are the most vulnerable to flanking so they require the support of other units to stay alive. They also require proper positioning because of their limited mobility.
