There are various kinds of creatures or bugs in the Terminid faction. It includes the small bugs known as Scavengers and Hunters, then armored ones known as Charges and Bile Spewers, and then the big ones are Stalkers, Brood Commanders, and the Bile Titan.
The Scavengers and Hunters are not a big threat as they can be dealt with easily with almost any weapon. However, the bigger and more armored bugs can create serious chaos for your mission objectives. The only way for you to accomplish the Terminid missions is that you dive in fully prepared. Although the best equipment options unlock at higher levels, it does not mean that there are not any viable options for the players who have just started spreading democracy.
In this guide, we will be telling you the best loadout equipment for beginner Terminid build including weapons, stratagems, armor, and booster in Helldivers 2.
Best Beginner Terminid build in Helldivers 2 Explained
Making the best beginner Terminid build in Helldivers 2 completely relies on what equipment you equip and bring on the Terminid mission. Without effective equipment, you will not be able to take out the bugs effectively which can turn out as a failure in extraction. With the best equipment on you, you will be able to take out any size of bug effortlessly and efficiently, giving you more room to breathe and take out any threats before they get too close to you. Moreover, the build we are sharing in this guide is effective for both solo and group gameplay. So, if you want to take on a challenge against Terminids solo at an early level, you can do it with this build.
Focus of Beginner Terminid Build
Our Beginner Terminid build focuses more on DPS than accuracy because bugs, especially the bigger sizes and titans are some of the most tankiest enemies in the game. As we will be starting with an Assault Rifle and then switching to a Shotgun for the early-level build, you will be able to eliminate the small bugs in one hit and even the bigger ones in a few hits. The stratagems like Eagle Airstrike and Orbital Precision Airstrike will allow you to take down Titan and Commander enemies in a single hit if placed correctly. Moreover, you can use the Mortar Sentry to take out hordes of small bugs from a distance, giving you more room to work on the objectives.
With the Hellpod Space Optimization Booster, your character will come out of the Hellpod fully stacked on Ammo, Grenades, and Stims. You will not have to worry about calling supplies often with this booster which makes this beginner build more effective.
However, as some of these equipment items unlock on Pages 4 and 5 of Warbond, you will have to level up around 8-10 to get the best options for the build. Until then you can use the alternative items that we will mention in this build.

Best Weapons for Beginner Terminid Build
The best weapon for beginner Terminind build or even the best Terminind build is the SG-225 Breaker Shotgun. However, you will need to unlock Page 4 of Warbond to unlock it with 20 Medals which will take you about 7-8 levels. So, for the early levels, it is best that you stick with the AR-23 Liberator Assault Rifle and take out the bugs from close to medium range with decent accuracy and fire rate. Once you have leveled up enough and unlocked Page 4 of Warbond, get the SG-225 Breaker.
The SG-225 Breaker will one-shot all the scavengers and hunters. Moreover, the bigger bugs will only require a couple of shots. You can easily run around the bigger bugs to get behind them and shoot a couple of shots on their weak spot to kill them. For your secondary weapon, choose the P-19 Redeemer Pistol. It is a fully automatic pistol with a 31-round capacity and a higher fire rate. You can easily clear scavengers with this weapon to clear out some space for yourself. The P-19 Redeemer fits perfectly with the High DPS equipment. However, if you want something accurate then stick with the starting pistol, but it is not that effective when a large horde of bugs is rushing at you.
Grenade Choice
The final essential piece of equipment is the G-16 Impact grenade. It is a special grenade that explodes on the initial contact with the enemy. As you will be clearing out bug nests during the missions, it is highly effective in blowing them up instantly. Moreover, you can throw them at any bug that is chasing you to most probably kill them or deal decent damage to them.
Moreover, here are some of the alternatives that you can use in Beginner Terminid Build.
- SG-8 Punisher
- P-2 Peacemaker
- G-12 High Explosive
Below are the recommended weapons for Beginner Terminid build:
- Primary Weapon: AR-23 Liberator (In starting levels), switch to SG-225 Breaker (once you unlock it)

What Are The Best Stratagems For a Beginner Terminid Build?
The best Stratagems for Beginner Terminid build are Orbital Precision Strike, Eagle Airstrike, Mortar Sentry, and Recoilless Rifle. Orbital Precision Strike is the very first stratagem that you will get and it is one of the best ones to use during early levels. A well-placed precision strike will eliminate Titan and Charger bugs instantly. Eagle Airstrike is another efficient early-game stratagem that you can use to unleash a bombardment in a straight line. Again, a well-called airstrike can eliminate bigger-size bugs. The Mortar Sentry is something that you will unlock at Level 8 but it is highly effective in taking out dozens of units from a great range. It has unlimited uses with a 180-second cooldown time. Lastly, the Recoilless Rifle will be our Support Weapon Stratagem, which you can call in. It is highly effective in taking out Bile Titan in a few hits.
However, if you are playing Solo then I will recommend using the EAT-17 Expendable Anti-Tank as it does more damage and can take down Bile Titan in two hits on the face. The rest of the stratagems can work greatly while playing a Solo mission.
Below are the recommended Stratagems for Beginner Terminid build:
- Orbital Precision Strike: A precise shot from the Destroyer’s “ATLAS” Cannon.
- Eagle Airstrike: Unleash a bombardment in a straight line.
- A/M-12 Mortar Sentry: Fire powerful shells at long range.
- GR-8 Recoilless Rifle: Fires a single anti-tank shell that deals high damage on contact.
Armor Choice
Now, the Armor choice for the beginner Terminid build mainly depends on whether you are playing Solo or in a group. If you are playing in a group then we recommend using CE-35 Trench Engineer Armor. It is a Medium Armor Set that comes with the Engineering Kit Passive Ability. The Engineering Kit further reduces recoil when crouching or prone by 30% and increases the initial inventory and holding capacity of throwables by +2. So, with this Armor, you will be able to shoot more precisely and have two extra G-16 Impact grenades to blow up the nests.
If you are playing Solo, then we will recommend the SC-34 Infiltrator. It is one of the earliest Armor that you can get and it comes with the Scout Passive Ability. The Scout allows the markers placed on the map to generate radar scans every 2.0s and reduces the range at which enemies can detect you by 30%. While wearing this Armor, you will be able to see the enemy nodes on the radar after every two seconds and the enemies will take more time to detect you. With this advantage, you can easily run into the objective area and complete the objective without getting a lot of attention from the bugs.
Below is the recommended Armory loadout for the Beginner Terminid build:
- SC-34 Infiltrator (Solo), CE-35 Trench Engineer (Group)
- Use any Helmet
- Use any Cape
