Nvidia has recently launched the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, and once again found overwhelming demand for its GPUs. With the RTX 5060 up for release next, performance benchmarks for the Blackwell architecture-powered and DLSS 4-supported card have begun to surface.

Helldivers 2, the popular 2024 third-person shooter by Arrowhead Studios, is a well-matched title for the card to run. Although the game is known for well-optimized graphics, its fast-paced action, stunning environments, and large volumes of special effects push mid-range GPUs to their limits.

The RTX 5060 is capable of running Helldivers 2 at relatively high frame rates with the right settings. This is true for both 1080p and 1440p resolutions, which use between 7 and 8 GB of VRAM. With the RTX 5060’s 8 GB of VRAM, it is well-equipped to handle the workload as long as it isn’t bottlenecked by other components like the CPU

Settings for 1080p

The objective of these settings is to maintain 90+ fps even during large battles. To achieve this, switching the Render Scale setting to use Ultra Quality upscaling delivers a significant advantage. The setting change leads to a nearly 40% improvement in frame rate while minimally impacting visual clarity.

Display Settings

  • Render Scale (Upscaling): Ultra Quality

Graphics Settings

  • Texture Quality: Ultra
  • Object Detail Quality: High
  • Render Distance: Low
  • Shadow Quality: Medium
  • Particle Quality: Low

Bloom, Depth of Field, and Motion Blur can be adjusted according to personal preference.

Settings for 1440p

At 1440p, the RTX 5060 can struggle to maintain high frame rates with the Ultra quality preset. Our tweaked settings aim to keep the game running above 70 fps with assistance from Ultra Quality upscaling.
