Rober began creating videos on a variety of subjects while he was employed at NASA. These included escape room strategies and April Fools’ Day pranks. Additionally, many of his videos focused on scientific topics like sand fluidization and water filtration.
In October 2011, Rober posted his debut video on YouTube. He appeared in the video wearing a specially designed Halloween costume. It was manufactured using two iPads, giving the impression that his body was translucent. In the end, this video went viral, receiving over a million views in a single day. This kick-started his YouTube career, and ever since, he has accumulated a massive following of over 60 million subscribers.
